I'm in the market for a small plane, preferably a 6 seater if at all possible. I would like to make the purchase with bitcoins if anyone here is selling.

Serious offers only please.

Feel Free to PM me, as I listed a Bo here before, do know of some dealers and owners and possible places to market BitPay to, to possibly buy. - Especially Bonanzas

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=209388.0

Also you DO NOT want the Cirrus it requires the parachute to be replaced after 10 years, and its easy $20,000 USD.

Also can discuss fees associated with planes, also I can describe some things you want to do.

Been involved in buying/selling process many times in recent few years.

I own a Cirrus and I love it. I highly recommend it.

Way over my budget. Absolute max would be around 1000 btc, but not really looking to spend that unless its a great deal with potential for resale. 6 seats is highly preferable, but I'd consider a nice 4 place.

Mainly posting to see whats available for BTC.

Wait a few months and these planes might be had for 1000 BTC.

If The F33A would have been available today it would have been 837.5 BTC and it was a nice plane, it got sold off for an another one that had better avionics and less hours on motor.

For 1000 BTC this is easy, PM me!

Especially if your east coast or Midwest.

Also you will find most 6 seat single engine airplanes are not truly 6 passenger with Gross weight issues, the mid 70s early 80s Bo A36s are about it.

Also in regards to resale, most planes hold value well, only losing 3-5% per year, but recently planes values dropped in 2008&2009 when market collapsed but it has actually appreciated some because people were not able to dump,  market now is back, IMO, especially if you don't purchase your first plane with a loan.

Well, that was more of an absolute maximum, definitely not what I'm trying to spend... 1000 BTC is what I might pay for a perfect condition, recent year, new avionics, fly my across the country plane, that I could resale easily next week

Not really sure you are going to find much around those price points. Seems like you want an awfully good deal for a mere 1000BTC. Better off waiting for the BTC to keep rising in price. Have you checked Controller for current market prices?

Yes, the ones I'm looking at in the USD market are closer to 5-700 BTC. I'm happy with something ~1970ish, as long as its been taken care of and upgraded along the way. The rentals I'm used to flying are all around that age.. some are much nicer than others.

Can all you fly or do you have pilots as well?

I fly myself unless I am using a charter for the whole family.

Just stumbled upon this thread. Was hoping that some aircraft broker would already be willing to take BTC. It appears that's not the case, but if anyone knows of a Cirrus SR22 (2002-2004 vintage, with chute repack already done) up for sale by an owner willing to accept BTC, please let me know.

Cheers

I know, I've been salivating over the 22 for the last few months now. Who knows, if this run up continues, it just might be mine some day  Grin

SR22 is great.  I have a friend that has a partial ownership in one; I'm thinking about getting my license, too, when I turn 16.

Going to do a small thread hijack for Daniel, don't wait till your 16 to start, you only have to be 16 to test for private license, also look into civil air patrol, as you get some time in depending on squadron and it goes a long way for college scholarships, my son is 13 and probably go this route next year as he has some interest in his license.

http://www.gocivilairpatrol.com/
I looked into CAP, but I ended up not going that route; it seemed a little too military-like for my taste.

I've taken some lessons at KHPN already, too, but I ended up stopping them (got too busy with some other stuff).  I might start them up again in the summer.
