bitcoin is a new technology which is great and all but it is a currency not a company. and this currency has been growing and will continue to grow with or without these centralized platforms such as FB.not to mention that all the drama about FB, Google,... were about them banning ads on their platforms not bitcoin itself and banning ads was totally understandable since 99% of these ads were either scams or shitty ICOs!

Maybe they are comparing the popularity of each system world wide. But bitcoin could not belong to this giant and will known companies in the world because it has not business which managed by people to make it famous but rather people who believes in for being life saver to make it better.

It is worth much larger than IBM and Apple and Facebook with its twelve-digit value in US Dollar. Bitcoin is already a giant. The difference is that Bitcoin is an entity that exist without the need to register with the SEC. The rest of what you have mentioned are subject to the laws of country of incorporation.

When we say about giant business, for me, bitcoin is already a form of a giant business, it is because of their high exchange rate value when converted into a real paper money or in a direct words, bitcoin has a high price value. But if we look the comparison of bitcoin into google and facebook, there is a big difference of status and quality, because google and facebook are both legally endorse by government, and bitcoin business is also having a link  on google and facebook, and it is something having a contract business into google and facebook. Although bitcoin having a big chance to beat google and facebook but bitcoin would need a single site that no need to used google. Hopefully it would happen soon.

Bitcoin is the regulation itself. The regulation that creates a 'layer' on top of the financial system, but completely out of the reach of governments and corporations. It's the most powerful invention ever, but people don't understand and appreciate its power yet, but they will later on. Great thing is that the largest countries admitted that it can't be stopped, and that it is pointless to even try to stop it. I am however a supporter of fair governmental regulatory changes in order to get rid of the 'amateurish' tint this market still has. If we look at Japan's approach, then it's clear that regulations aren't a bad thing at all. I wouldn't even be surprised to find out that Bitcoin or crypto in general has made Japan's GDP grow marginally.

Bitcoin is already a giant but IBM and Apple were in different category with bitcoin. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency thus its field is on the level of monetary, financial and currency. On the other hand IBM and Apple are a manufacturing company their category is different with Bitcoin thus there are no competition except if those two companies will launch their own cryptocurrency and compete with bitcoin.
