The current situation is obviously a bear market. For a digital currency that can only be used for a long time, it is better to sell accompaniment currency or sell it because it is likely to be declining for several years.

i have bought bitcoin with cash but never anything else and i don't want to do that either because i don't want to turn my money into altcoins. what i want to do is to turn my money into bitcoin (so i buy bitcoin with fiat) and then i want to make profit on the bitcoins that i already have (so i start trading altcoins which means i buy altcoins with bitcoin).

as for the anonymity of cash, i don't care for it much. i pay my taxes and i am not doing anything shady or illegal so i am not planning on hiding anything.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Personally, I don't think that buying crypto for cash is a matter of hiding something. This is just a way that is convenient in certain situations.

I dint buy or sell cryto currecny for cash because i think its very much risky . If i find genuine person then surely i will try to sell or buy crypto holding for cash but till now i dint find any person . In BCT i found some but dint want to take risk.

Thanks for your feedback. It would be interesting to know your opinion how still it's possible to minimize the risks with this form of deals?

The only way to buy Bitcoin for fiat is to use localbitcoins. Some time ago I was stupid  and greedy enough to try to avoin localbitcoins fees and sell BTC directly  to the other people. Spent the whole evening looking for a buyers on the local forum, most of the people I've talked with were absolutely inadequate and during that time Bitcoin lost about 5% of its price (the average amount of fee on my country) and I still didn't find a propper buyer.
I often buy and sell cryptos for fiat but it is a real pain in the ass if you are trying to avoid localbitcoins.

Thank you for your feedback. This will be useful for my research.
Of course it would be cool to know what country you are talking about Smiley

Buying or selling crypto for cash directly? Do you mean something like face to face deal?
If it is what you mean then I never done it before, I think it is because most crypto trader will prefer to use an exchange for it for easier transaction. Dealing with crypto face to face also not really recommended imo, as it is very dangerous if we do not know who are person we are going to deal.

Yes, I mean exactly p2p deals. The issue of security certainly has a place here, but how can you minimize risks? For example, Dether introduces a rating system for sellers, that is, you will see the current status of the seller and will be able to estimate how much it will be safe to make a deal with him.

Yes, I sell the crypt for cash. I recently had to sell a little ether.
not the best time, but i want to eat)

Thank you for sharing your case Smiley Could you tell me exactly how you sold your ether for cash?
And by the way, it turns out that you needed to change ether to your local currency in order to buy food, which requires time and additional costs. Direct purchase of food for crypto would be more profitable and convenient. This is why Dether team focus on this issue and offer special opportunities. Any local\street business can connect to the app, place itself on the map as a business and receive ether and other crypto later as payment for their goods or services.

It will be awesome if we could buy food directly by our etherium or bitcoin or maybe other crypto so at least we can safe our sending fee and also withdrawal fee but in my country its not possible to buy food directly with crypto because crypto is forbid to use to pay something.

Of cos that's the main purpose of trading in the first place to get more crypto to exchange to cash. In my country LUNO help in such services. They exchange coin like ETH and BTC to local currency though their charges are quite high.

Yes, I think its very important to buy and use crypto, not just holding without ever using or cashing out!

we need more usage cases than just the current trading happening on exchanges and so on

so we I go out for shopping, I ask shop if they accept bitcoin just to spread as much as possible to more people

Yes, this is what Dether does. Recently, the first dapp version for business was launched. Almost every offline business in any country can be listed on Dether map and soon receive crypto directly for its services and goods and also be a crypto-cash exchange, what can serve as an additional income. These can be food stores, fast food, cafes and any other businesses. But I really can't know how things can be with this in your country, because I don't know what country you are talking about Smiley

because I see if it does that the level of loss we often multiply occurs but if we do in the form of exchange on another altcoin or bitcoin we can still move on the altcoin.

Hey, thanks for sharing your opinion. Btw, the main Dether message sounds like this “Buy and sell crypto for cash. Spend it at physical stores”. That is, on one Dether world map will be all. A very ecosystemly ecosystem, as I call it. So, if you would like to spend your crypto in your favorite places in your city, but they don’t yet accept it - just show them Dether dapp http://shop.dether.io Wink While this is only the first beta release exactly for Business, which allows to list any shops on Dether map, but soon it’s will be possible accept payment for crypto for their goods and services, as well as to make a crypto-cash exchange, which can become an additional income for the business Smiley

No way Jose I sell Bitcoin or buy Bitcoin with cash. The fees on those Bitcoin ATMs is absurdly high and I won't consider using it until it becomes a nominal fee and or I actually need the service. Don't see a point of using a Bitcoin ATM when I could use an online exchange that is about 800% cheaper to use Cheesy.

Wow, these are unacceptable fee Shocked Well, I'm sure that the future is behind decentralized p2p exchanges.

In my country the best way to either buy or sell cryptocurrencies is through face to face deal once you get to the exchangers office you send the bitcoin to his/her wallet and at the end the value of the bitcoin you send will be calculated in the value of your local currency base on the exchange rate of dollars to your local currency at that time and the money transfer to you bank account or given to you in cash.

Thank you for sharing. Tell me please if you can, what kind of fee in such exchange office and what country are you talking about? Smiley
