He maybe needs to know how expensive it's just to live in Taiwan just to rent apartment you need to spend most of the money. It's not about lifestyle, it's about the gap between rich and poor and also the cost of property that always increase overtime because land is limited but human always reproduce.

While this isn't really bitcoin related, I do think this is an amazing tool which I wish I had found a long time ago. Really allows you to compare the salary that you get here from the salary you would get in other exchanges with the cost of living factored into the equation -- which is really essential when trying to compare salaries.

The OP was not talking about exchanges as this is about countries, and yes, you are right as it is indeed a great tool which I personally wish I had seen a long time ago as well. It is funny though that after making some comparisons, I was surprised at how with even a low income, you will be able to do hugely fine in some places and then consider the option of making a high income in such places.

However from the look of things, the higher the standard of living, the higher the average income and vice versa.

Regrettably, in my country the cost of living increased 2-3 times over the past 4 years due to war and economic instability.
Despite the fact that I earn now 5 times more than used to earn on my primary job this is cancelled out by the increased utility bills, more expensive food, clothes and transport.
So now I think about moving to another state where my work will be valued more adequately..

It really varies from country to country. Some countries have better living opportunities for everyone and some have the worst. Developing countries are quite cheaper to live a healthy life than in developed countries. And especially this living can be easier to people to developed countries when they go to developing countries. Whatever situation it is, the matter of fact is all about currency.

Cost of living is something everyone should consider and even more so for those of us who can make our living anywhere in the world, but there is more to life than just cost of living, you also have to consider how happy you will be in a certain place. If we look at the countries with the highest happiness ratings we'll often find that they are also among the happiest countries.

The cost of living is actually affecting a happy state of certain persons in most cases. If people don't have enough of financial stability which will provide the security for a life they also cannot enjoy that same life.

Those countries with the high cost of living actually have the higher standards so someone from a different country cannot consider his/her move to that country if he doesn't have the steady work there.

Happiness is connected with the financial situation and no one cannot deny that. There are few cases where the rich people are not happy with all their wealth but that are only a few cases where the certain people have low morale and will.

Come on, you don't think you can be happy without money? Tell that to the people who live in slums. Being happy is not to do with what you have, it's how you perceive what you have. Just like bitcoin's worth is only defined by the value people assign to it.

That's right. In fact now everything is always dealing with money even  in my country use public toilets also have to pay. So money is on top of everything right now, there is our money happy. If someone says I'm happy without money it's just bullshit. The cost of living is in need not just for people who already have a partner and a child, a teenager who is in school also needs money for their snacks.

Well maybe some point this is right,but we must always remember that human can adjust depend on how we want to,so i guess its all about the people itself ,that their cost of living defy on how much they wanted this to happen.instead of drinking flavored drinks why not just water,instead of eating in fast food why not cook for yourself so every foods you prepare can cover the whole day meal,isnt it applicable?

You are right dude, no offense though I live in 3rd world country so in term of public facilities are so miserable. Yes, mountain like Nepal is a good natural environment, but how about electricity, internet, etc. What i'm saying is price is an indicator of quality.. just like bitcoin vs altcoins

I think the cost of living comparison is seen from the factor of residence. if we are in a metropolitan city then the cost of living will be much different from the residence in the village.

yes agree, the cost of living comparison can not be seen from the factor of a person's circumstances because each individual has unequal spending.
