Merit is so unfair

Isn't it so unfair for the people who is new here? That will be struggling making such as good quality post so they could be given a merit by someone. I know all of you is having a hard time thinking what are you going to post such as good quality.

It is really hard to have a merit it is because as far as I know:
People are selfish. Even though you post a really good quality post still there is a people who won't give you a merit.
Some are alone. Like me, I don't really have much friend who would give me a free merit. I know that it is easy to have a merit with a friend that have an account of bitcointalk.

My question is. Why still need merit? We are still struggling to rank because of the merit.

Well, I for one, prefer the merit system as it keeps the forum on track. It reduces the irrelevant frequent post as each participant here wishes to get 1 or 2 merits from a quality post. This harness intensive reading and brings out our logical and critical thinking skills on issues/topics being raised.
Also, the merit system functions as a check to multiple accounts. I believe if you really post a quality one, you will be merited.

I think its quite fair though, as you can see it would lessen or reduce the spammers here on the forum. So i prefer the new system the merit system despite the struggles our moderators want us to be settled or organize.

It's not fair if you already feel make a quality post but no merit for them. one of the reasons that underlie it, it could be because the quality of which you speak is not necessarily well qualified for others. In addition, it is indeed sometimes there are people who don't want to give merit to a person they don't know. It should be noted however that the merit system has been great and this makes people become increasingly active make a quality post to improve the rank of their account.

For me , merit is very effective to prevent many fake accounts in our community. It also helps to further post the postings and prevent lots of spam and  untopic comments , Yeah your right its not easily to earn merit . I have many positive posts but im still not get any merit but i think i need more improvements to achieve that.

It is true for new people it will feel difficult if want to up the rank, because from jr member to member we have to collect merit. if you try hard and make a really useful post there will be someone who sincerely gives merit. We do not have to focus too much with merit. Let it flow. Which is important we sincerely provide useful post. If there is no merit, it will be a lot of junk post.

It seems to be like cost cutting in "COMPANY SAYING" just to be like that, I think they can strict to regulate the Rank Higher for the purpose of minimizing for any coins distribution when they applying for different Bounty campaign that's only my own perception. that's why merit has limited and selected elite to worthy person. so we'll just wait guys if they are willing to give us the merit  and we received it in a heartily accepting.

merit are made for good reason and some need to have a lot of merit to move up to the next rank.
so this is a competition that I think is fair to do to improve a post that can help others.

If you can reread this with a straight face and then tell me you don't understand why you haven't earned any merit yet, then you've probably given up a good career as a poker player, because THIS is the reason why you (and others who write just like you in the English section) are not getting merit points.

If your post doesn't make a lick of sense to a native English speaker, do you really think even your closest relative (next laptop over), who would be disposed to kindness towards you, would read it, much less give it merits??  Hell, no!

The only way you folks are going to rank up is by illegitimate, backdoor means.  To wit: trading merits, buying them, and/or buying accounts that already have them.  You are never, ever, going to earn merits--unless you can figure out a way to do so by posting on the local boards.  I still have some faith that this will eventually end up being a solution to the problem you guys have created.

There are many users here who grab on to that excuse before examining how shitty their English is first.  And I can say for myself that I would give, and have gladly given merits to people I don't "know". 

Frankly, I don't know anyone on this forum.  There are definitely people I respect more so than others, but if you look at the people I've given merits to, it's a broad array of members--and I don't know a single one of them enough to call them by their first name.  So that excuse doesn't hold water. 

In fact, it's chiefly the merit abusers themselves who use this excuse, while at the same time trading merits between alt accounts and friends.  Blame the fuckers in your own neighborhood first before pointing your fingers at people you've no idea about.

yes. I agree with you. There are a lot of good quality posts that are made in different places and only a few members can give merit points. Because that is limited we can't be sure that they can read all the posts. The few people that can really give you merit points can't be active all the time and can't read everything.

I agree to you mate, as much as I would like to work hard making a quality post sometimes I realized that it became useless because not everyone will appreciate it nor give merits even if they find it useful. I hope we can go back in those time when merit system is not yet implemented.

And that totally means that naturally you are a shit poster and you prefer being a shit poster. If you are posting because you want merit and not because of the things you have to contribute, then people like you are the main reason why the merit system is in place.

At least since you know you are not going to be getting merit for your post since that is the only reason you have your account, then you are free to remain in that position for long. Why are people always clamoring for merit if they really have the desire to post quality posts, if you are here to really learn and contribute, merit will even be the last thing on your mind.

Yes you right! You have a point. People is very selfish, so even you have a good and quality post you can`t say you  can receive a merit from someone its because most of people in world are doing something for a reason, but always remember there are some people who can give a merit to us if you have a good and quality post, like manager in any campaign that we have joned.

There are few people here, who can give you a free merit that is  why now is hard rank up.

very agree with the statement you give, and I also agree with you, how merit system should exist that did not exist, for the old users may have no effect but for the new users is very influential when the promotion should be supported by posting a quality , while the quality comment or not it depends on the thinking of everyone who reads

Merit is not unfair because it is a new type of system of this forum to stop people from posting non-sense because they will only get merit from other people if their post makes sense and that is a good way to prevent spammers and shit posters. No it will not be unfair it will only encourage the members of this bitcoin organization to make the best posts that are worth for reading , not just posting for the purpose to accomplish the required post per week by ICOs that does not have good ideas , legendary ,hero, senior ,and full members will give their merits if the post have the quality  and I believe in them.

It is fair enough. they are just protecting us by preventing spammers clogging to the forums posting irrelevan topics (being able to earn from it). with the merit system i think they wanted us to post helpful ideas that can help the crypto society.

Yeah, at least we have to keep looking at the good side of things. So far, a lot of spammers have reduced and with the way things are going, we are going to get the system cleaned.

Nevertheless, I totally understand how some new members may be feeling with the whole idea of not at least giving them a chance to rank up as a result of the merit, but those who bother too much about merit really should not, and once some merit givers see the consistency and quality of their posts, they will hit those merits and rank up in no time.

First of all, we are not the developers of this forum so we must accept what they need to add. If they think merit will be a benefit to most of the users then they will add it. Second, another merit thread again. You must move this on meta because most of the merit topics there are about merits.

Merit has been added because of shitposters ranking easily by posting some one liner posts which is consider as spamming.

There are some services that gives merits to high quality posts. You just need to go to services child board and find it.
