Well I think this is because the forum is starting to become overcrowded, overpopulated, and polluted. Since bitcoin's skyrocketing season, this forum also skyrocketed wih users because they found out that you can earn money in here. Because of that, the forum lost its essence and became an advertising medium. Questions are getting repeated and answers are not as accurate as the old times. Some just post for compliance. So the merit system I think is a good idea.

Merit system has hang every one in the crypto market like those who are done ranks in th past they will be in the higher position while the lower will slow to get the progress to the high level and this is unfair in my opinion the previous method were good to rank up with the daily and weekly activity and it was good for those who are in the active position and for me the bitcoin is really important because now i have no extra income and i want to grow in the bitcoin so for me the merit system is tough as i am active but it will need much time.

Isn't it so unfair for the people who is new here? That will be struggling making such as good quality post so they could be given a merit by someone. I know all of you is having a hard time thinking what are you going to post such as good quality.
It is really hard to have a merit it is because as far as I know:
People are selfish. Even though you post a really good quality post still there is a people who won't give you a merit.
Some are alone. Like me, I don't really have much friend who would give me a free merit. I know that it is easy to have a merit with a friend that have an account of bitcointalk.
My question is. Why still need merit? We are still struggling to rank because of the merit.
If you think it clearly you will realize why the forums needs this merit system. As you can see there were people who creates multiple account and this would be the best action to do to control ranking up of accounts. I admit it is hard to earn merit points but having this system you will obligated to post quality ones and it will be possibly the start to continually improve your post. There are also some threads who were offering some smerit in exchange with task that is needed to do. |

I know that some of you guys agree that having merit points in order to rank up is what's best for this forum and for us, users to avoid and lessen spammers spamming messages, yes I know that that is the intention of this merit system but the thing is, not all good quality posts here are given merit points. I agree that it is so hard to rank up now that we do have merit system. Some posts are not given merits no matter how good and constructive it is, and there are still spammers anywhere, they do not rank up as well as those people who are trying their best in order to construct good quality posts, we are both left behind by those people whose posts are given attention and are receiving merit points.

I do not agree with you, I am still new here but I really agree if merit still exist because meril can make us grow to contribute positiv in this forum, if merit is deleted it will be more garbage in forum and make it very not comfortable
I also agree with you, Merits makes us to be a good one in this form, it help us to be more positive and being constructive in posting. It also help to avoid spammers that uses multiple accounts to rank up. |

I haven't seen anyone get a merit other than the 2nd post. So it seems this will be very hard to come by.

I also agree with you, Merits makes us to be a good one in this form, it help us to be more positive and being constructive in posting. It also help to avoid spammers that uses multiple accounts to rank up. Though this "multiple account users" are earning a lot of digits just by joining Bounty Campaigns on Alternetive Cryptocurrency Section. Spamming won't be stopped unless the forum stop the usage of Signatures, that seems impossible to happen. Instead of whining about the new system, make yourself worthy of the Merits that will be given unto you in the near future. |

Ahhh.... talk about merit again... I've forgotten about merit here. Just read, learn, and post something good in every thread. Let see what will happen . If you have no merit, just share a positive thing. It's enough! Sharing good thing is virtue as well so it is good to be positive, if you will share your good experience about bitcoin it will encourage more people to involve bitcoin and you will be able to be a source to raise bitcoin price in our daily retinue. People will use bitcoin more than before for high price of profit, so with time I think bitcoin merit is increasing but it will never decrease or it will not be end until people will keep on investing, merit is going to be high mate get the chance and buy bitcoin. |

We cant really deny the fact that some people are too selfish and ignoring some good post quality which do deserves a merit but they do decide on not to give it at all.We cant do anything about this and also having no friend isn't really a valid indication to rely on where you can have a source of merit.You might get some but you should think for longer aspect.Piece of advice,you should do your job on contributing into this forum without minding too much on leveling up because merits will eventually comes in without you awareness. |

Merit is unfair in a way that it is hard to own it. What they say it needs quality post, but I think its not only quality post because as what had experienced it base on how many friends you have who can give merit to you. People is focusing more on their own which can lead them not to read some post thats why merit can't easily be given. You will find ways it will be read to someone. |

Simply, the administration is trying to create a closed club of "experts" from those who have already gained a high rank or by some miracle will dial it in the future. This will dramatically reduce the influx of participants in the campaign bounty, and thus increase the value and rewards of members of this "club."

Merit system is really difficult to have and be rewarded. Most member here are not giving away their merits and I feel stuck into member rank though my posts are in quality, I think so. I hope that many members here would give away their merits especially those with higher ranks. |

Even in the service section there are many threads that aim to give sMerit without having to do quality posts, in fact it proves if Merit is not really given to users who have quality posts. So, so far it looks like the merit system is not good in my opinion.

Merit will be only unfair if you have multiple accounts because ti was really hard now a days to rank up your account. But if you are going to compare your low account to those high ranks then it might be really unfair because earning a huge amount of merits is really taking time. |

You are right thay Merit system caused difficulties for the new members but it also good chance for new members to be a quality posters.You said that your post quality is good but still no one give you merit, in this matter i completely disagreed with you beacsuse many of people opend ann thread for give the merits.so if you think that your post quality is very good then you can post your links on that thread and get the merits. |

Merit system is made to improve everyones posting capability. This forum is invaded with people without any knowledge about cryptocurrency and topics are sometimes not good because of these newbies, and to stop them from ranking up merit system is implemented.

The merit system has achieved the result it wanted to: to block people at low levels, so that high rank members can make their own campaigns by earning money without having competition.
We all know that we do not receive any merit, even if we write masterpieces.
And spam is just a pretext.

It got to a point that the garbage posts being posted on the forum each and every time was becoming annoying and appalling. The good thing is that merit system has changed a lot of things, and I see people who beg for merit anyway as those who are just here not mainly for what they want to contribute but what they just want to earn and that is why a lot of users will end up abandoning their alts account for that reason leaving the forum with quality users. |
