NEO is not kicking of because this is the best time to buy. Some people will make use of the present opportunity to buy some of this coin and keep until there is bullish run. Let it not amaze you to see that very soon, many will realise that 2018 is truly a year of crypto, a year of ICO, a year that many investors will make it more. The market doesn't just consist of true investors (who aren't perturbed by the daily/weekly ups and downs), but also consist of many day-trading speculators/gamblers who do not care about the tech of the coin, and week-handed noobs who are susceptible to FOMOs/FUDs and panic easily (and sells after just a 15% drop in price) - whereas real long-term investors who have done their research would continue to buy more of that coin they have properly researched the more the price drops.

So if there is no news, they wouldn't pump it. Price action due to FOMO/FUD doesn't reflect the true potential of a given coin IMO. If you believe in a project, just need to hold for the long term, and let the price grow with the tech.

A slow steady growth IMO is more healthy, and will enable the coin to find true-adoption; rather than empty (FOMO/FUD) pump-and-dumps.

Just last november it was like around 20 dollars!
You should take the time to look at the history of any coin or token.
This will help you understand its potential value more.

But realistically speaking, nothing is really taking off.
The market has been really sluggish for 3 straight months now.
It's not that crypto is crashing, it's that there is very little trading volume now (especially when compared to last december).

In order for any coin to "kick off" there has to be a high amount of volume.
This will create a healthy supply/demand situation where prices have room to climb.

So, if you really want a coin to "kick off", the best thing to do is to actually be active in it.
In this case, buy up some neo, it is relatively cheap now.

The market is not kicking off, and thus most coins are not. NEO had its pumps every now and then, but now we need serious money for the market to recover. Other platform coins are not doing too well either.
