Hi and Hello!

I've been mining exclusively with Slush since Sept 2012 and I've come and gone as I get chances to work on my software client here and there. I wouldn't remotely pretend to have contributed much, being late to the game and witnessing how quickly the race is escalating, which I find fascinating. What I do do is work on an application using cgminer as it's heart, and providing features such as account monitoring. graphs and historical logging, site shortcuts, an OpenCL device explorer, market rates, and several other features are planned for integration such as remote monitoring of your rigs via an Android app and an equipment cost calculator.

I do love me some hardware, so I enjoy the recent ASIC arms race and find the BFL ATi/AMD ripoff shrouded Monarch to be a brilliant design idea. I love the idea that a a redundant supplied Asus Rampage IV board rocking 4 x 600 GH/s for a total of 2.4TH will set you back a cool $19,000.00. Strangely, you can get the same performance (~2.3 TH/s) using 720 Block Erupters for a cost of $9000.00.

I've finally gotten some time to dedicate to working on my farm and am adding capacity in small chunks of 7 Block Erupters and a D-Link 7 port hub. I'm currently awaiting delivery of the first hub so for now each Erupter is plugged into my PC and Apple monitor. I'm very happy with low error rates, and I am optimistic about my planned design for a mining box, which I'll describe further in a design document soon.
