No, i dont think so. Hope, you did not do this. I think that ETH can be bought near 300$ or lower. Now we have very bad situation at altcoin market, so buying alts is very bad decision. You should wait more, because we will have bear market till the end of 2018. But i think that ETH is very promising. Main advantage for ETH - is wide community and a lot of projects, that work on ETH blockchain.
Indeed the current market situation is still low. But all of that cannot be predicted by anyone. I agree with you that buying eth is very promising. With a fairly low market price, that is a good opportunity for those of you who want to invest in ethereum now. |

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Newbie here... I've been thinking about buying my first crypto. I think I want to buy ETH, but wondering if I missed the boat already? Primarily I'm choosing ETH because I think there are less foreseeable limitations than BTC, and it seems like ETH is basically accepted everywhere BTC is. Plus its cheaper  Is now a good time to buy it? Should I wait? Ethereum is on the decline. thus Ethereum will be a fairly affordable price. with such a price provides a pretty good profit opportunity going forward. my estimate of Ethereum would be a pretty expensive price. I agree.I believe that ETH is next to bitcoin. The price of ETH today is low,so I suggest that we should buy or invest ETH so we will gain a possible huge profit in the future. |

I'm curious what you ended up buying?
For first time investors, it is always recommended to buy btc or eth (possibly ltc).
This is for liquidity and the ability to move into other alts if you choose to do so.
AS of now, btc still has over 40% dominance of hte market and is the most widely traded.
ETH is just about as widely traded but is not as fungible.
But, practically speaking, both are just as useful as the other.
As far as investment value goes, ?I would say short term btc, long term eth.
BTC still has one or two more bull runs left in it. Insane profits can be had.
But two, three years from now, you will finally see the market more evenly distributed as better tech replaces btc.
I don't think it will die all together, but there will be two to three coins caryying most of the market weight instead of just one.

What about the price to operate on ETH, there are almost no cases that economically make sense.
