The confusing part might be there is possibly more then one vote on the ballot paper.   Each party nominates a candidate, the two main parties are Republican and Democrat so that is Biden and Trump, they are irrevocably linked at this point.    I thought Trump would get covid and possibly it would be Pence would become the main candidate because he is Vice president but apart from that extreme circumstance in effect you are basically voting for the person. 

So in 2016 Democrats got more votes but they did not win overall via states or college wins, it is slightly confusing.  I've got a graph to post which shows each state and the actual amount they count towards a winner overall so just focus on that:

  The complication is the votes are not counted nationally, the largest cities on both coasts have far greater population but the President wins by points from each state, its not 1:1 vote.   


So 3 vote points from Alaska counts towards the win overall, obviously Alaska is a great state but not much of the USA population is there in comparison to California it has a massive 55 points counting.   So Cali counts for alot and its quite certain to go towards Democrat this time so its important a Republican win is collecting a large amount of the smaller states.   This is why they keep on going on about Ohio or whoever, because these end up being pivotal towards the college win not straight votes.
   Arizona going to Republican would be a big deal, people might then assume Trump wins overall if that happened and similarly Florida going to Democrat I think they take Biden wins overall as a strong indicator but to call it overall is deceptively more complicated; I was pretty surprised by the closing odds on Freebitco but I like people take it as close to even either side imo thats not far off the truth because of this electoral system.

We can say more on speculations but let see how the election's going on and wait for the result.
I'm not seeing that Trump takes the lead base on the betting odds. Gamblers are betting Bedin to win or Trump to lose. I actually have to put my bet to Trump, not because he is good but because we are practically in betting. lol

But the time has come to an end that eople had to decide who want to be their leader. I hope there is no cheating happens as it warns and to make the election's results more reliable than full of doubts.

Someone tell me,,, I looked online but it is VERY confusing. So people voting in the elections do not necessarily mean they are voting for Trump or Biden, but for the parties right? And each electoral counts as one vote for Trump/Biden right?

So you can still win without majority vote by individuals? I always thought it was different in US but seems same as many parts of Asia:)

As the image in the next post to yours shows - Florida has 29 or the College Votes, so Trump just has to smooch that one state and he doesn't have to do anywhere near as much work as ten other states with just three votes a piece, same goes for some of the other states on the east coast (especially the north eastern corner) with double digit college votes.  Texas, Illinois, NY etc are all golden states to win.

Starting Wednesday, will there be odds for Pence Vs Harris to be the NEXT president after the one elected this week?

Why would there be? Is it certain that either Pence or Harris will be running for president? Maybe some other people would become the dem/rep candidates instead of these 2 people...

Someone must have thought the same thing about Bernie Sanders - although he's not a candidate someone has dropped some money on him winning in about 24 hours time.  They're the two most obvious candidates for next time don't you think?

Pence is a good possibility (a win is also very likely) because I think Donald is going to win tonight also but I am not sure about Kamala... If dems make her a candidate, then it'll mean they are dumber than I thought. No fucking chance she'll win 2024. If the dems want to lose again, yes Harris would be the perfect candidate.

A little while ago the ABC News Network in Australia have Biden 203 to Trump's 103 Electoral Votes, so in all likely-hood with under three hours until the West Coast voting closes that Biden will get over the line.  If that happens, then it's very likely that Kamala Harris will become the next president (after Biden) - I'll be putting money on that wager.



Having said all of the above it'd be another interesting wager to see if Pence became the Presidential nomination in 4 years time if Trump looses today.

I was just starting to bet on the champions league because I had an event.  And immediately followed by predicting the bitcoin price.  Recently and I was able to bet on the USA elections, Trump was the only one I chose to vote for before it closed.  And only now I can bet on other football/soccer games here such as PL, Bundesliga, and others.  I also looked like I could bet on commodities in case I didn't know much.  Where do you look at its prices or at least monitor it?  The one at the oil price, I don't know what its general is because there are many types.  The one in the S&P 500 I have no idea.  I almost forgot about the famous awards events, I only voted for Ariana Grande.

One thing we can be certain about after this election ends, we know that polls are almost always wrong, I get that there is this "margin of error" talk from all poll companies that wants to save their lives and I get that they do not want to be the scapegoat of the night for a shock, but almost all of them were giving Biden the favorites, hell even casinos were giving Biden a bigger chance to win, almost everyone was talking about a potential landslide.

No matter what the outcome is, we know that poll companies are not really providing what the reality is and that "margin of error" is literally the difference between a landslide win of Biden versus a trump win and when your margin of error is that HUGE and unreliable I am sorry but so will be your predictions from now on. In 2024 nobody will care about poll numbers anymore that s for sure.

I think in the long run, Bitcoin's fate will not change. This result will affect short term markets, stockmarkets etc,,, and maybe some spill on effects to crypto, but in the end, it only delays or makes faster the decisions people make with their money and capital. Eventually, all traditional markets will suffer from Covid, and recession,,, and then crypto (or gold) is what people turn to. And not everyone can get gold!
