We have spent the last couple of days fixing some minor bugs with the GUI wallet and also implementing the transfer RPC API for the Purk donations button.

- Fixed issue with GUI wallet synching from 0 every time - User must "close" wallet before exiting
- Fixed unconfirmed transaction date in GUI with payment status
- Implemented wallet RPC API for donations button
- Added confirmation modal for transfer request on GUI wallet

Please uninstall your current version of Purk, delete your cache from ./purk folder and reinstall the latest release from:

https://github.com/purkproject/purk/releases

Enjoy

Thanks, the new wallet works well.

No problem! Good to hear Cheesy

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

New wallet release seems to work, did not torch my old wallet file so all PURKs were not lost; that's a plus.

Hah no fear! No torching here. Your Purk is safe and all transactions are stored on the blockchain. Glad its working well for you.

After you open it, wait for a while, it automatically searches for the node and updates the block.Wait for...

Interesting projects, through excavation and donation, to achieve the development of PURK. Get away from the hot ICO channels.

With Wild Keccak algorithm, can I mine the coin using my AMD 470/570 rigs?
I have never mined coins with the algorithm. Please help me.

Yes you can. Please visit https://pool.purkproject.com/#getting_started and use CPUMiner-Multi-OpenCL

As soon as the donations button API is released we will begin applications. We want to bring more value before doing so.

I just published an article about features, specifications and ongoing development plans for Purk.

This is well worth a read if you want to find out more information about the cryptocurrency.

Nobody is going to mine this coin,
11000 H/s gives you only 0.24 Purk per day!

What processor do you use? 11000 H/s is really low.

With a Ryzen 1700 at Stock Speed I get reported hashrates of about 1.3 Mhashes. This would be about 28 Purk per day. In reality the hashrate must be much higher because I'm getting about 100 Purk per day.

I am getting ~1mhash/s on an rx460 and roughly the same on an overclocked i7-3930K(@4.4Ghz)

1 MHash/s gives me around 80-120 PURK/day depending on network diff.

So in my experience this coin is both CPU and GPU mineable atm.

Tried 3 times to install on Kubuntu 16.04, following how-to-build (Linux advanced) instructions at https://docs.purkproject.com/. When I come to "cd purk; make -j"
it runs until 86% (check_points_test.cpp.o) is reached
then dozens of cc1plus thingies pop up in KSysGuard, CPU goes to 100%.
The only thing I can do after that is moving the mouse pointer until after a few minutes that also freezes & I have to turn off the laptop. No error messages.

Any idea about what I could have done wrong?

Sounds like cmake is using up too much of your resources to make.

Also with your command you are telling cmake to make everything in Purk, which takes a lot of resources to build. You could probably get away with:

Code:
make -j 1 daemon simplewallet
