Hey guys, Im a beginner miner with linux. Can someone please direct me to some tutorial that is easier to understand than what is on the site. On the site is super confusing and not user-friendly, but more programmer-friendly

Hi, you can use https://github.com/purkproject/cpuminer-multi-opencl but you will need to compile. Best bet is to join our Discord if you need some help and post in "#mining" - https://discord.gg/cqmSrfz

In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

As for me this project is one of the few projects that r attractive for long-term investment! A well-designed roadmap, transparency and projected growth. Definitely worth to participate in

One month and the price dropped from 2400 sats to 240. This is definitely not a good thing for PURK.
I just want to have some words for all holders and anyone who is still having purk coins.

If you guys follow the project and their Discord, they are still working very hard on marketing ideas and developing the business. Please DONT FREAK OUT, and hold on tight.
As one of the devs say, they can only work on coding and business, they can't control the price. Traders buy and sell and make the price go the way they want. However, as soon as, people realize the progress of the project. The price will reveal the value of the project.

UNBAN ME IN DISCORD AND STOP DELETE MY MESSAGES

The answer is no. You were explained to why the mods banned you on Discord, and the reason your messages were deleted on here by the bitcointalk mods is because you were being abusive - AGAIN. End of discussion. Move on.

We've been in talks with the team at https://crex24.com/ who are willing to list Purk on their exchange.
The devs have agreed to pay the listing fee between themselves and the main exchange fund will remain untouched!

it's too from discord about listing on crex24 soon

NoCoin plugin does not detect anything, neither Nano Adblocker. CPU usage is fine.

If you have a Pentium it's not dev's fault.

You can't. We don't allow mining to exchange. This is incredibly poor practice. Please download the quick install wallet from https://github.com/purkproject/purk/releases/download/v1.0.3/purk-win-x64-v1.0.3-installer.exe

Purk is an open source, private and untraceable cryptocurrency that monetises your content and provides almost instant, worldwide privacy protected payments with minimal transaction fees. Based on Boolberry & CryptoNote technology, Purk helps balance CPU, GPU and ASIC mining speeds, which encourages fair and equal distribution whilst providing extremely fast block verification times.

Purk was created to help content owners and service providers monetise their website or application by accepting quick and easy micropayments from their users or customers. Website users can send Purk to a content owner or service provider to show appreciation for their hard work. By sending micropayments as a tip, it highly reduces the amount of monetisation that is needed on a website. Instead of using intrusive adverts, affiliate links, pop ups and sponsored posts, website owners can install the Purk Button and accept quick and easy payments to monetise their content or service instead. Not only does this reduce the amount of promotional clutter on a website, it also reduces costs on content writing and saves time by allowing your customers to tip/pay your writers or employees directly.

Miners

Note: The Wild Keccak algorithm was designed for resistance against ASICs (and to "some" extent GPUs). AMD miners will have a better experience mining Purk using the OpenCL miner. Whilst Nvidia mining is still highly profitable, an optimised CUDA miner is still yet to be released making hashrate reductions and light instability very probable.

Roadmap

2018-2019

  • Purk Button

    • An open source button that gives publishers the ability to monetise their content, website or application and allows users to send Purk as a gratuity or tip in a couple of clicks.

  • Exchange Listings

    • Applications will begin for Purk to start trading on the exchanges. Exchange listings will be taken in to careful consideration before applying, based on trust, platform software, security and cost. This is a long, drawn-out process and will be an ongoing task until we reach our target.

  • Launch Public API

    • Currently we track the donation wallet address, button creation date, website URL and the amount of donations that have been received for each Purk Button that is generated. Once this phase is complete we will be able to receive donation totals in PURK (opt-in), impressions (opt-in), tx hash, donor wallet address variance and user button interaction. We will be publishing the PURK Button API and allowing websites and blockchain based applications to integrate using an API key. Documentation website to be developed and published also.

  • Automatic Wallet Consolidation

    • Since launch we have already implemented a manual consolidation command in Simplewallet to deal with small input payments and eliminate dust from a wallet. We propose to develop new functionality that allows wallet users to auto-consolidate incoming transfers in command line and GUI wallet.

  • Wallet RPC API

    • Whilst the current Simplewallet RPC API can be used for integration, we would like to provide exchanges a secondary option to integrate Purk with their application. The Wallet RPC API will have 20 new RPC methods which use the latest CryptoNote protocol. Current Simplewallet RPC API will stay in-tact.

  • Alias Registration

    • We intend to improve the current alias registration system by allowing users to associate an alias ID directly from the GUI wallet or command line wallet when you make a transfer – as opposed to when you solo mine a block.

  • LMDB Development

    • Currently system requirements need a minimum of 8GB RAM to use the Purk client. We will be integrating LMDB (lightning memory mapped database) which will improve blockchain synchronisation speed and allow lower spec PC’s and applications with limited resources to integrate Purk with ease.

  • Donations Platform

    • As a fully decentralised cryptocurrency, development updates should not be decided by a single, central authority. To ensure the natural progression of Purk we will start development on a donations and fundraising platform, where a community of Purk supporters, donee’s and donors can vote on development updates, advertising proposals and PR for Purk alongside other donation based projects that are listed by the community. Development will start in Q4:2018 and we expect to launch Q2:2019.

  • Instant Encrypted Messages

    • As a fully decentralised cryptocurrency, development updates should not be decided by a single, central authority. To ensure the natural progression of Purk we will start development on a donations and fundraising platform, where a community of Purk supporters, donee’s and donors can vote on development updates, advertising proposals and PR for Purk alongside other donation based projects that are listed by the community. Development will start in Q4:2018 and we expect to launch Q2:2019.

  • Redesign Wallet GUI

    • Complete redesign and development of the wallet GUI. Additional wallet features to be implemented from previous roadmap items such as encrypted messages and optional traceable transfers.

You can see the complete roadmap on our website or at Trello.

Team

The Purk Project utilises a contractor model that allows for new individuals, groups and companies to contribute to the Purk Project. Currently, Purk consists of a small number of contributing members who work on the project:

  • 3+ developers who contribute to new code, maintain the current code and implement roadmap features in Purk's open-source software and repositories.
  • 3+ marketing contractors who actively market/advertise Purk through a number of mediums including; paid advertising, media, outreach and networking.
  • 2+ graphic web/designers who work alongside the developers and marketing contractors and deliver all visual components for web applications, websites, software and advertising.

It's funny that once a see the word TIP, I instantly think of ADULT cams, you know the ones
I did not read the thread yet, but, tell me, can I use the Purk technology in order to tip some fine women/performers? Cheesy
This is a serious question, so don't laugh!

There aren't any limitations where a Purk Button can be installed - if a user wanted to tip performers this wouldn't be an issue.

Yes it works, sounds like you have a corrupt blockchain. Please do the following:

You will need to remove the old /purk/ folder which saves the blockchain. You can do this by opening the CLI as administrator:

Windows

RD /S /Q "C:\Users\YourUser\appdata\roaming\purk"

Mac

sudo rm -r /Users/YourUser/Library/Application\ Support/purk

Linux

sudo rm -rf /home/ubuntu/.purk

Now relaunch the wallet and resync the entire blockchain - this should fix the issue.

Ensure you "close wallet" in GUI, or exit, save and refresh if using Simplewallet...
