There are a ton of bunkers in Switzerland, thanks to a somewhat weird law that there has to be bunker-space for every inhabitant in the case of a nuclear attack or an event of similar magnitude. Some bunker complexes are small towns, being able to house thousands of people with facilities such as churches built in.

actual a solar flare strong enough (X100+++++) can destroy all running electronic circuits via strong static electricity in the atmosphere. Any redundant networking or protection against the internet borders BS that's doing the rounds?

We are working on that aswell. By now we use redundant Swiss networks that are currently avalable, but you can see at devda.ch that the next generation networking is allready in work.
