We all know what merit is and what smerit is. We also need to know the history of bitcoin, or at least the concept of what the blockchain is and the rules of bitcointalk ..
For this I propose

To pass the test on knowledge (bitcoin, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, the blockchain history, the rules of bitcointalk ..... )
The number of questions from 10-20
Test time 30 minutes
You can take the test once, for one account
Participate in the test can:
1) Account must be older than 3 months
2) a Participant should be rank not below Jr. Member

For passing this test the participant will be credited 1 merit points depending on the received result

Questions will be generated randomly (out of N number of questions)

Why it will be useful:
This will give beginners and experienced users a basic knowledge of the crypto world.
Will give the newcomers the opportunity to earn legal merit.

What is needed:
For this project needs participation of the staff forum for providing Merit!!
Initiative group, for writing service on a third-party platform or implementation in the forum itself!
Create a test and documentation for it to study!
Translations of tests into different languages, or do all the questions in English !

I hope this offer will appeal to admins of the forum!

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

All this will do is create yet another market for abuse and Services popping up offering to take the merit test for you or supply you with all the answers. Just earn the merit like everyone else does by making quality contributions.

To do this, you need to do on the forum itself, so that the user passes this test in the profile, this way not everyone comes to provide information account
For new users it to be interesting, and merit are not so big, so much to think of them admins

It seems like people are thinking of every other method of getting merits to jump-start their new accounts (read farming account rings, shhhhh).

Lets take a look at the different method of pseudo-merit begging which has happened in this forum in the last 2.5 months post-introduction of merit system:

1. Merit trading which was too obvious and got negged by DT. Some of which are still being debated.

2. Idiotic threads in the tech and meta section popping up since DannyHamilton prefers to merit those threads which are according to his policy Blah Blah Blah and the shitposters mob ran to these sections without even knowing the reason why these sections exist.

3. Ass-licking the merit system and merit sources.

4. Nail in the coffin - a test for newbies to get merits while getting into the forum.

Damn you guys forgot the reason why merit was created in the first place. Roll Eyes

You don't at all. People will just offer the Services off site anyway. In fact, people will probably just put all the answers on a website or blog so they can easily be found by googling and that at least will get them some free traffic. This isn't going to work and almost certainly won't be implemented.

It seems like people are thinking of every other method of getting merits to jump-start their new accounts (read farming account rings, shhhhh).

I know. If these people spent more time putting effort into their posts than dreaming up harebrained schemes for alternative ways to acquire merit they'd probably already have the merit by now.

Yes, I do not exclude the chance of abuse
Well, we must also think about those who came to this world crypto, learn and study. As when we went to school and got knowledge!
And do not just write pointless posts
This test, we will stimulate so that people who want to know what the crypto world is
Who was the founder, how everything originated in the crypto, what rules are there at the forum, everything will depend only on your knowledge that you received for all time and what will be your result and reward

The idea sucks. You see, many people join the forum exactly to learn about crypto, Blockchain and kinds of businesses about all of that which can bring money. Well, I was such user. Before to join the forum I only heard about bitcoin and how much it is possible to earn on it's trading. Almost all of my first comments is just asking what and how, and I guess there are many users like me here.
I suppose such testing as you offer can awake new wave of forum's 'criminal', which is happening about Merit currently, I mean: trading of merit, creating groups which send merit to each other and so on.

Well, it's logical to write 900 posts in 2 months to ask? Here is an example that I encountered and that this information is useful to think about?

I'm not talking about in-depth knowledge, I'm talking about the initial knowledge that is needed

This is a different issue, and many of us think that bounty and alt spammers should be banned. The merit system was introduced to try to diminish their impact on the more serious boards. Trying to force them to learn about Bitcoin is unlikely to have any effect on them or their behaviour.

shit posters are unaffected by this and could even give them an advantage and more reason to make more alts. These people don't necessarily lack knowledge.

Honestly newbies need to realize that high ranking members put in a great amount of work over the months and even years to get to the level that they are today. With all this merit blah blah blah, seems like new comers want a fast route to the top. If it were so or that easy, everyone would be doing it. It's hard yes!!! Hard work pays off.

This forum is not a school, merit is not grades, legendary members aren't teachers. People should be here, and learn about btc/blockchain,etc.., because of themselves.

Tho, nothing's stopping you from starting a bitcoin/crypto/blockchain/etc online course or something, that would actually be pretty nice.

I've actually got a teamspeak server, and I toyed with the idea of using it for chat sessions, but I decided it would probably be abused.

It might be interesting to have a chat with a few of the merit awarders though. Smiley

I don't really agree with these. Although, newbies should always take initiative to learn things. Older members should always be helpful and friendly to the new ones. I do agree that this forum is not a school, but older members should guide those who don't know anything.

Merit on the other hand, well. As you can see, a lot of people now are trying too hard to get some creating random gibberish threads.  Sad

I'm not saying that the new member should be ignored and whatnot, just that when you see someone talking about blockchain, and let's say you don't what it is, you'd be going to youtube, google articles,etc.. and read about it. Higher member have their own business to go about, that's why there's beginners & help section.

So as I've said, there can be an online course made, that would actually be really cool, to make like shortened edition on what crypto is, what blockchain is, how does it work,etc... but I don't know how that could relate to the forum, where people with pre-knowledge come to discuss or new people who come, learn and then can discuss. You're here because of yourself, why should anyone be holding your hand and lead you if you can't do it on your own.
