I had an old account on this forum forum and I wanted to change my username, I saw no way to do it so I created this new account (sorry if there was any other way to do it).

What I would like to do now is to close the old one, I don't want nor need to have two accounts, but I don't see how.

Any help would be appreciated.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

You can't close it. Change the email to random and password and never come back to it is the only option.

very simple and positive reply no need of old account now cheers  Grin

Delete all your posts and pm's first. Then change to random email and random very strong password. That way if your account got hacked it will never be used to scam.

He could change the displayname, though. No one ever looks for the username.

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.

I didn't saw how either. It was a non editable field on my profile.

I don't remember exactly, not many. I have been more of a reader than a contributor.

Anyway, I've already followed the advice to change the email address and the password so we should leave it at that.
