Id do something like this:

Just make sure the qr links to bitcoin.org

Yeah, a QR code looks nice and modern, although if it's on a flag rippling in the breeze, it's doubtful anyone will be able to scan it from a photo of our doughty adventurer standing next to it.

If all the sovereign non-cryptocurrencies will eventually collapse from hyperinflation, you can't afford *not* to invest in Bitcoin...  See my blog at http://minetopics.blogspot.com/ .

Moon flag protocol variant: hold the corners of the flag steady.

Any news about the delivery of the flag?
Btw, if there is no time for delivery, i guess the flag can be printed right there in Capetown. Just ask bellboy at the hotel to find print-on-tshirt service nearby, pay him well and the flag will be done in a hour.

Just hi-res bitcoin logo printed on a white fabric would be fine.

Flag dimensions?  Hard trip. Mustn't be too big.

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

The funds were raised, and are now moved to cold storage: https://blockchain.info/address/1K9XBn8Sur9tNAm7vUTeZr9JH8wC5Kdu3G

Frankros of Reddit presented the Bitcoin flag to Faysal.

I've apologized to Thorkil.

Awesome job all.  I must say that our community has been scammed a great deal and defenders with skeptical inquiries will always be needed; we're a motley crew and we all do our best. In time, we'll all get more used to expecting / using the awesome transparency that Bitcoin provides.

Well, I have to say it's not as bad as it could have been.  Hopefully the Bitcoin symbol or name are at least visible in one photo.  Good job.

Any update on this?

Unless I'm missing something, we can assume that Faysal's out on the ice, sailing his way to the South Pole with a Bitcoin flag and smartphone in tow so that he'll be able to order a pizza via bitcoins to enjoy when he gets to Chile in about 80 days.

The above reads like a joke, but seriously, it's factual and we in the Bitcoin community wish Faysal a safe historic journey--the first person in the world to solo trek to the North and South Pole in the same year.

The departure has been delayed due to the storm. I try to keep the other thread updated:

Tuesday, November 5, 2013, from CAP TOWN.

The Storm on the region of Novo base is very large. The temperature is too high for the region (-8 ° C). The wind was so powerful that it knocked bulldozers and not destroy evil shelter hard.

We remain on standby in CAP TOWN. After reading satellite images, there is a strong chance that the departure takes place this weekend.
This leaves me time to refine equipment, rest and accumulate fat.

No update yet, but we can assume that Faysal is about to hit the ice this weekend, predicated upon the weather.

Ergo, officially, Bitcoin is now on all seven continents, with Faysal having a Bitcon Flag in tow to be planted at the geographic South Pole.

Love this project.

Do we have any climbers in our community who can plant a flag at the top of Mt. Everest?  Or divers willing to submerge to the bottom of the Mariana Trench?
