hello! im yet another newbie, interested in bitcoins and everything related. Im from Prague, just finished law school! I heard about bitcoins a few years ago, but I was too lazy to buy some.. poor me:).. hopefully I can still get in in time, however it is not that easy in czech rep. and in our currency.. so far there is no easy way for a normal folk here to understand and buy 1 BTC in a whim. I consider myself computer literate and I still dont have any.. At least I have a wallet now in the bitcoin-qt client, finally (anyone willing to test it?thanks:) 1PHVgH9oQWEWD1Ms9sQsNcMmYXP5Ls2QtE). Though it takes ages to synch. with network:/ and Im not sure, if I can use my wallet at this point, or wait till its done.
With that said, im looking forward to bright future for bitcoin as such!

You can use your wallet while syching. However you can't do much with it when you don't have a single Satoshi (very small part of a Bitcoin). I don't have a Satoshi for you either, so I can't send you any.

But i'm not really useless for you: Have you ever heard of BTC "faucets"? Fill that in as a keyword in the search function of this forum. You can receive some Satoshi's with that Wink. Goodluck!

{Curently quite inactive as I'm really busy in my private life. I will get back soon!}

-> Your line here during my inactivity? Feel free to PM <-

Just sent 0.0001 BTC to get you started, give it ten years and it will be worth a fortune!  Grin

2 things. First of all, if you want/need free btc look up something called "bitcoin faucet" where you can get a tiny amount of BTC for free! Second, why dont you use an online wallet? You wont have to download the entire blockchain! I recommend http://coinbase.com because you can easily buy and sell BTC, and have a online wallet as well. Also for any transaction over 0.001 they pay a transaction fee of 0.0005 (which if you pay will add up to be a lot!). Also any coinbase to coinbase transactions are instant and have no fees!

Hey! Its all about trying it out with small amounts until you get how it all works. Theres plenty of ways to actually try out sending/receiving bitcoins.
