I think more important is big idea and skill cause even though we have big capital but do not have idea, skill and strategy in business hence result will be bad. But if we have idea we can start effort from small first. with diligence, patience and good strategy then the business will be great. something big starts from something small.

i think so, we should have a big idea to produce something big too, but capital is also a support factor that affects speed of a business's results. if you have both i'm sure the business we run will definitely grow rapidly

I agree with you, both are needed when starting a business. What's the use of having a capital without having a big idea or vice versa?  Business is no good without having those. They must be together inorder to succeed.

For me is idea. A business is started with an idea first because you will never think of what right business to put up, must be related to what I  love to put up a business that I am putting up. Next to that is make a feasibility study if the business will click to people for you to succeed in that business. Next will be the capital. If its short I can ask for sponsorship, family and anyone that is close to me that I can present my business so I can reach my needed capital.

I would quote Nikola Tesla over Edison if I knew of a good quotation Tesla made which applies here. There could be interesting contrasts between Edison and Tesla that are relevent. Tesla was a big idea guy who generally lacked capital. Edison was more about hard work and smart business than big ideas and had big capital support. In the AC versus DC electrical supply contest, Tesla defeated Edison. This could mean big ideas or the right ideas win against big capital, sometimes.

Your topic could apply to banks and fiat in competition to crypto currency. Banks and fiat have big capital. Bitcoin and crypto currencies have big ideas. Which is more important? Maybe we will find out.

I like this quote and also agree to this statement but in my humble opinion having both has the best result. The sad reality about these things is that majority has big ideas but lacked in big capital just like what had happened to Nikola Tesla. Having big capital to pour into a business here in my country is great most especially if it comes up also with great ideas though tax is killing every businesses purse but still having both has the potential to grow and gain profit. I am not a business minded individual but getting involved on it is tricky since it needs a lot of money to start with.

The more important thing when starting a business is surely the budget, the money. Without enough budget, even if you have a perfect and unique idea, you cant make it real and it remains just as a dream. Of course the big idea is also needed but its position is always second after having the good capital.

The most important for me is having a big idea when starting a business because even if you have big capital then you suck in conceptualizing ideas then it may only lead to bankrupt. So I suggest when starting a business, you need to think first of a  unique idea that will surely patronized by the people. After having the idea you may borrow first through loan for your capital because if that idea would have a great impact to individuals then you are able to give back what you have borrowed and earn more profit than expected.

Interesting question. I think the most important thing is surely going to be to have a winning idea to start a business. But you can have the best idea in the world but if you don't have the capital needed to realize it or you aren't able to collect the necessary funding, your idea... just remains an idea!

It depends, some ideas don't require big capital to hit, some others do.
As I know any idea "no matter how stupid it is", can become a success story if you have a big capital, because you will be able to improve it it
and recruit the best employees and assistants. Sadly, money can make miracles.

I know some big business started from the small capital, a big idea> big capital. if you do not have capital you can find partners who will fund your business. one good example here in the Philippines the biggest chain pharmacy mercury drug. just started by just selling antibacterial drugs via selling it on streets.

I am going for big capital all the way, no question about that. Now, I chose big capital over big idea because nowadays, big ideas without support cannot really flourish and become actually big(if you get what I am saying), whereas if you have big capital, you can choose the biggest idea there is or the most innovative together with the necessary things you would need to support that big idea. And even when you do not have what it takes to look for the best ideas out there, you can hire someone to do it for you.

If the capital alone it is difficult to think of ideas then owned certainly also be somewhat hampered and not running smoothly.

There are many entrepreneurs with amazing ideas and even have access to funds but when they fail to deliver profits, the funds will vanish quickly. And also there is a thing called crowdfunding and IPO or even ICO which can greatly help the economics of the business. I prefer those kinds of money accumulation instead of bank loans because when we choose that we able to measure the legitimacy of our ideas in other people opinion.
