My guess is the price of bitcoin going into a fire-sale incentivizes scammers/makers of fakes to come out of their cave and putting up bullshit ebay listings? Or did some specific fake cas-related event make you bump?
Recent example:
I was Christmas binge shopping online and stumbled on this hideous copy:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/197702823158?Clearly this won't fool anyone on this forum, but it is the first time I have seen this and wanted to share.
It's sad, because in order to produce a very realistic fake, one would assume the maker of the fake is also a holder of a real cas coin. They can have a better chance of reverse-engineering one with their real physical copy on hand. Shame people stoop to this level. AI generated images don't help either. But hey, free will means you could make fakes and do good with them instead of evil. For example, A little while ago I read about some asshole setting up coin inspections to rob people:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5549724.01.) Create a fake cas
2.) Set up a sting operation
3.) Profit? (jail)
