« The end is the beginning of all things, suppressed and hidden, awaiting to be released through the rhythm of pain and pleasure. Bitcoin evolved from a sore baby to a powerful soldier who is surrounded by a wonderful community of freedom fighters! With your help Bitcoin will be able to defend itself in the fight against all financial systems that are based on debt. But for us it's time to move on. »

We really appreciate your long time support!

THANKS AND BYE BYE!

From what I can see.. bitmit is the closest thing to SR... and when SR was shutdown by US GOV...

I think bitmit also got a hint from that? Just my opinion... or did bitmit really get a cease and desist order? or something similar?

It could also be possible that the profit margin is not that good for bitmit with all the server expenses and etc... that it has...

Aww naw , not the bitmit.
Well. The website I earned my first 0.1 BTC on is going down.
Does anyone know any replacements ?

No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.

This catches my attention:

does this mean they don't have enough profit margin?

They started as a ebay for bitcoin sites "WITHOUT ADVERTISEMENT"... then now they added a few AD BANNERS... (which i think are paying SO VERY LOW)

so it must've been about the profit margin? just my opinion...

I've only been on BitMit a few times, why would the GOV take action on it? They haven't done anything wrong.

we do not know that for sure...

I have seen a lot of DVD's and porn site accounts listed in bitmit a few days ago... it could be illegally taken or hacked accounts... DMCA... and etc... but yeah.. we really do not know the real reason...

just throwing out random ideas...

The fact that they are doing fraud testing makes it even less a SR.

I expect this was a false positive  Smiley

Seems strange closing the site and then selling it. Selling it while working should get better offers

This whole closing thing is strange. Why close a well running site like Bitmit?

No signature ad here, because their conditions have become annoying.

I don't think it is the gov't. If it was, the owner wouldn't be selling the site or announcing so much in advance.

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.

I wonder why they shut down. Perhaps it was due to financial reasons.

Either way I have the IT and developer resources at my disposal to put "Bitmit 2.0" together and sustain it at a extremely high scale. I have plenty experience with these type of projects.

Now that they are down it may be time to put a really professional service out there. A pure, robust one. Not a child's implantation of it. Wink
