I thought many times about making this topic but i said to my self sure why not?!  It's a free country I think serious discussion is the way to go for this topic first I like the merit it helps improve this forum it stopped farming accounts and ranking up became for the worthy members only but unfortunately it got the power in the hand in some
people who don't deserve it  some people think the self's helping by attacking any member they think he (shitpost) and if you look back at their post history you will find like 4000 or 7000 posts are none of those weren't shitpost? Or unnecessary written? I don't like to spam the forum so I only make 1 or 2 posts a day I know my posts aren't of great quality some people would call them shitpost
I think the ranking up should be in the hand of the admins and moderators they rank up who they see fit with keeping the merit system, of course, I am sure that some legendary members are helping the forum by attacking spammers,  account sellers, scammers.. but some of them have gotten way of board they want to invent a new system and start judging people and I don't think that's cool.

by the way i don't look for merit don't care about getting merited or ranking up and i am open to discussion any post attacking my personality will be reported to moderators thank you

I agree to this part. Yeah, its true. It doesn't mean that a particular post is a "shitpost" just because it has no Merit. Some post are just being ignored by other Members that's why they can't notice that a certain posts is meritous.

There are 3 reasons (in my opinion) why a particular post can't receive a Merit.
1. Post being ignored.
Like what I said, some post are just being ignored that why it has no Merit. Although a particularly post is a Good Quality Post or Informative, if readers ignore it, then it won't really receive a Merit.
2. Because it is posted in Megathreads.
If you're one of those Member who always liked to post in Megathreads, your posts won't really receive Merit. It is hard to read post in such threads mostly if the thread is flooded with spam posts. Most of members who give Merits for Good Quality Posts doesn't visit Megathreads too much, that's why there is a possibility that no one Merit your post there. But sometimes, some Members do.
3. Spam post.
This is the common reason why no one Merits a particular post.


Besides that, about the other thing you were trying to say.  I can't barely understand what you want us to understand. Or I'm just a little lazy to understand it.

Life is not fair man. Many high rank members are shitposters but they have been active in this forum for a long time. So when theymos release merit system, they automatically received merit equal to their rank. Forum is too crowded and staff members can't handle all member activities, for a better forum, we need member's awareness, good attitude.

thank you for your comment really appreciate it i do agree with you with all what you said about my other thing is i had a neutral feedback from some members on the forum the first one was based on a contest i entered from a legendary member about giving member so the guy has the right to leave a neutral feedback because it was part of the contest and he was right spaming mega threads is wrong because that threads already have enough replays like 20 pages or so, so i started to work on that but out of the blue some oher legendary member buts in and made himself a judge and left another aggrissve feedback which he hasn't the right to leave beacuse I haven't entered any contest of his I don't talk with that person so he lost my respect completly you can see those in my trust feedback

that's not what i was talking about we really needed the merit system so it stops the spam that is going on the forum just a lot of shit talk around some of needed to improve and that's what thymos was aiming for in the merit system not anything else but what i see is some people starting attacking people like they are scammers or thieves but on the contrary i might think of them as they are just being greedy as you said

So you mean Mr. actmyname isn't? Well, it is really part of the rules. He only gave you Neutral Feedback so that you will be encourage to make your post more constructive. You should stop spamming in Megathreads too or else you will keep receiving the same feedback or even Negative feedback. Mr. actmyname also gave me a neutral feedback for spamming Megathreads too. That's why I'm improving my post and avoiding to post in such Megathreads because they are all flooded with spam posts. Actually he said to your post in his thread that

But the thing with me doing these reviews in chunks is that I am also exposed to the content that you post after the reviews (though I only skim through them before going to the relevant pages). If there is enough reason to leave a neutral feedback then I will. And it's not like I can't remove these after you show an increase (hopefully a great one) in post quality.

So it means he can still remove your neutral feedback if you improved your post. If you are reading this, try to improve your English vocabulary and stop spamming in Megathreads as well.

Yeah your were right, you didn't entered any of his contest (he also don't have any contest actually) but he has a right to give Neutral Feedback to anyone, even Negative Trust because he is a DT Member and responsible for giving Negative Trust. He said that your a "Shitposter who cannot write English and should never be allowed to join a campaign." which is true. Anyone can also notice it if they read your post as it is really not constructive in English. Also you're making mistakes at spellings too.

Well, Improving your English vocabulary is the only solution.

That's definitely true, all of what you said.

Regardless of what OP thinks is or isn't going on here with respect to the merit system, I have to say this:  Things are better now than they were before January 2018 when the merit system was dropped on us like the 10 commandments from Moses.  Even if there is shitpostin'-a-plenty, which there still is.  The fact is that the new system is making it harder for the idiots to rank up their whole stable of alts, and thus it makes it harder for them to farm accounts--harder to sell them, buy them, you name it.  I suspect many of the signature campaign spammers just haven't realized yet that they're not getting a "job promotion" within the next decade and haven't gotten around to giving up yet.  But they will.

Plus I've most certainly seen that many users have improved their posts dramatically.  That in and of itself is good news for bitcointalk.

More exactly, merit system is something like extreme valuable, unexpected gift we got from Theymos, the forum admin.
I have joined the forum since October last year with my original objective is to earn money.
I don't deny the fact. Due to magical impacts of merit system, now I feel better and I have changed myself to be better member in the forum. My knowledge increased gradually, I feel better day by day by help others in the forum with my limited knowledge and experience.
Nevertheless, I believe that I will be able to help more forum members when I matured more over time.

I would add your list of reason why no merits will be earn. It might be possible that they are abusing new members just like they've been abuse by higher members in the past just like working in real life when i'm still a new workee they abuse me not because i did not do my job but because i am new to the job. The other reason is there are lots of alt accounts in bitcointalk, you see another name but behind the forum name it's still the same person that is why they won't easily give merit to your post or someone's post.

Just keep them doing the same thing. Although Merit system has been implemented intending to eliminate spam posts, people who post shitpost and spam posts will not really decrease. Actually there is something you should know about the real purpose of Merit System.

Merit System intentionally is not implemented to eliminate spam post and spam posters, it is implemented to keep those shitposters to stay at the ranks forever. They will only rank up if they make good quality posts but if not, it's their choice to suffer at their present rank forever while watching other members moving up the ranking. We all know that spam posts will never decrease, this system prevents those members (shitposters) from ranking up if they don't really deserve it
