If bitcoin flops, you out 40 bucks. If bitcoin succeeds, you will have the equivalent of 10s of thousands of dollars or more. If your in the US, open up a coin base account and buy it there. Easy for newbies.

Buying bitcoins is a way to introduce yourself to the payment system and its potential. Personally, I think buying bitcoins as an investment is lame. The people that will make the most money are the ones that build the businesses and technology around Bitcoin.

I'm not from the Us or any first world country and I'm finding difficult to buy bitcoins. I tried some faucets but I only got and that's kind of ridiculous for the amount of time it takes 0.0000735 BTC. I also tried with Virwox for a credit card purchase but it's not letting me. Where can I buy bitcoins easily for a non-us, non-european buyer??

$40 well as of today get you almost no bitcoins. but if you have fallowed the prices at all you would have seen that in 1 day that $40 would have turned into $55. 2 days ago bitcoins were going to $219 today they have almost reached $300 so far.

Buy for fun, never put in your life savings if you're old. Invest in high risk if you're very young. The more risk, the more rewards (though sometimes not in monetary form but wisdom).

After you get your Bitcoins, transfer the Bitcoins to your local computer. Don't trust an online wallet.

And YES... NEVER EVER EVER EVER TRUST an online wallet. BECAUSE it simply CAN get hacked, as everything in the world. a smartass got $30 bucks worth of bitcoins on its public release. Now he's a millionaire, but this wont happen to you, the drop of the cat already passed. Now we got a badass inflated coin @ $300

This. If you only want to invest $40 bucks I suggest you do it, then play around with it. No investments, little gambling, in the end I suggest you put it in a paper wallet, and wait it out a few years.
