Most of you have probably heard about George Soros a billionaire who is reportedly taking an interest in cryptocurrency trading. Just before this event, he's been negative on bitcoin, calling it a bubble and etc, but with his sudden interest now in trading with his $26 billion assets, I guess we could probably say that he saw the potential of cryptocurrencies.

How do you think will this affect the market and all the user of cryptos? Can we expect a price spike in the market then after a while, a sudden downtrend movement again?

Well, the way I see it, this happening to the industry at a time like this would be really great. This would mean a huge push to the prices of bitcoins which then would drag all the other altcoins in this market to be valued even higher. This would eventually cause a domino effect in terms of investing because other billionaires will jump in also if they see that other billionaires are also making gambles in this industry. And then small people(investors), seeing the hype happening or the uptrend, will obviously be investing also which will make the prices even higher and attract even more investors.

I do not hear news about him, great effects, if he wants to invest, would indeed be there. odds on crypto including bitcoin is indeed very good and very promising, but I'm not sure a very rich as she is fully willing to invest his money in a very high risk. probably still a lot of things are more promising to be invested.

Either do I but if he has asset over $ 20 million, it's surely will affect on bitcoin value globally.
I can't wait to see another uptrend but it's become difficult when you're depend on 1 investor but it's will be easier for 1 government

Investing with a huge amount is a way to attract people and make more profit. Such huge investments by billionaires are the  reason of  the price fluctuations. earlier when the price goes down. These billionaires invest in crypto currencies and own a huge number of coins which automatically decrease the supply and so the price increase. When people see that the price is increasing they invest in bitcoin again and when the price increased more those billionaires withdrew their coin which again makes the the price low.

although he interest to crypto trading but there is no guarantee he will spend very much money to buy bitcoin and also there is no exact data that he will consider to buy a lot of bitcoin if he serious about his opinion but indeed if this news true and he provide good review about bitcoin trading then probably other billionaire will following him so possibly downtrend will change to uptrend

George Soros is an experienced speculator who has a huge financial resource. Now you can expect any scenario. There is no mechanism to protect against speculation on cryptocurrency exchanges. It's a Paradise for Soros and their speculators like him. We can expect more volatility.

Nevertheless, if these people help restore the equilibrium in the market, then Welcome. I personally very much liked the price of Bitcoin in the area of 20,000 dollars, and what is happening today is a collapse for all investors.

No one has any more authority than anyone else. Anyone who wants to use bitcoin can. George Soros can't stop you from using bitcoin and you can't stop him either. Fair money.
The monopoly concept comes into my mind when I read a statement like this. The entry of some one who invest in huge amount or in bulk will rise the prices of the coin because he would hold a huge amount and in most such cases, he might become even the price maker. Correct me if I am wrong. This is because the aggregate demand and supply will be affected id he demands or try to sell. Such are the possible effects of the entry of potential billionaire investors

This looks more like a contrived story so far. If Soros were actually going to invest in crypto massively, the price would have surged already. But we are still stuck in a range where we have been trading for a couple of weeks by now (if not for longer). Obviously, the market doesn't believe that Soros is actually going to pour his money into Bitcoin, otherwise we would be in an uptrend today. So it is just a rumor intended to raise interest toward crypto but it seems like it didn't make it.

Yes, I've heard that today as well. My friend told me that a few more besides Soros is going in, I believe he mentioned Rockefeller as well amongst few of the names he mentioned.

As much as I don't like him for his politics and for funding various organizations, but if he's seriously going for BTC investment, I highly encourage him, all more of them, to do so. :p

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

I don't know much about Soros to be honest. However, supposing that someone actually invested millions of dollars in Bitcoin ($26 Billion sounds a little too extravagant to be exact), the first consequence would be a spike in price. Moreover, an investment like this would possibly attract media/investor attention, which could actually attract way more people into business and everything it entails.

If he realize now that after his bully on Bitcoin that he could be one og the big whales and will earn then we could expect a slight fast moving of Bitcoin price because of his huge assets on his disposal. Lot of billionaires are now in Bitcoin in which we are just waiting for them to manipulate the price in which if that would happen then we join their game and ride unto it for us to earn huge too.

I don’t consider George Soros as loyal investor, honestly with his controversial involvement in destabilising from country to country this won’t be a good things cryptocurrency. His idea of using money to manipulate things will only make this community more in danger.

First impression last as they say, for what he have said before their is a big possibility and other whales will dominate and manipulate to crash the market for his advantage.
Absolutely I agree because some whales are always manipulate the market for their own advantage. It's ok if their whales or investor in the market but the whales who's not always manipulate and take a advantage because they can help the small ones. I think that person cannot be loyal in crypto  if he have bad image in the pass.

He was a bully on Bitcoin calling it a bubble constantly, whether it was on articles or twitter, it sparked up rumors and FUD. He possibly already tried to manipulate the market by his sayings, it's not a lie that it did affect the price. How can we possibly know that he isn't trying to manipulate the market again by flooding it with cash, rising the price, then selling and crashing it back down?

I never heard that name before but based on what you have said, I sensed that his statement opposing to btc at first is intentional (maybe i'm right or maybe I'm wrong with this). We all know that bad statements coming from well known economists, bankers and businessmen affects the market, I guess George Soros did the same way also to influence the price to fall down so he can have an opportunity to enter the market and maximimize his capital at the same time.

Well, if he plan to invest in btc then its price will pump up since $26 billion investment is huge.

In the other hand, millionaires and billionaires could be attracted due to this event, how about the economy people? They have a bigger effect on the market and let's be honest around 79%-85% are consists of economy family, and I do belong to it, (No discrimination on my mind), though point is if money keeps coming on market not only ICO taking all the money and disappear before their token reach the market exchange, BTC value will increase and so as the others and when this happens, this is paradise.

and yeah... they have the potential factor to affect the BTC price with their awesome money.

I think the question was more about the effect on price if a trader like Soros (with his $26 billion) entered the market. And the answer is, we have no idea, because we don't know whether he's bullish or bearish, or what instruments he's interested in.

People dismissing Bitcoin as a bubble haven't had much effect on its price, historically. Smiley

With many investor will join on cryptomarket and with big funds, I am believe cryptomarket will spike again and maybe it can reach highest market cap like a few months ago. Beside that, many people will more confidence to investing their money on cryptomarket

The amount of money he will invest in the market is just a case of speculation, being a billionaire does not mean that he is going to trade his billions into the market, these reports gets main stream attention all the time and i do not understand the reason for these, i do not see any potential effect and if you are looking for any movement, you need to see more billionaire investing all in tandem. There’s a lot of pros and cons for a billionaire investor. Possible effect of it is, the money involved is too high. We know if we invest too high, bitcoin price becomes high, we should know what would be the positive effects of billionaires. We should encourage billionaires to make bitcoin value high and high

I'm not going to doubt any billionaire that said they are negative about cryptocurrency. Jamie Dimon did even said bitcoin was a fraud before but look on what he did. He put hyped just for their own interest and get managed to buy bitcoin while it's very cheap.

How do you think will this affect the market and all the user of cryptos?
It will bring positivity as we are all looking up to the richest people and what they say are gold for us. And if he give advice and says "buy bitcoin" it's positive to us.

Can we expect a price spike in the market then after a while, a sudden downtrend movement again?
I guess so.
