A company did an interesting social media experiment on people's acceptance of cryptocurrency as a method of payment for salary.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vcGUeDlnLU&t=30s

Looks as though it could possibly have been staged by the company (I don't think so??), but the results seemed similar to what I would expect if it was genuine. And I think it is actually a clever way of promoting their token sale, more potential to go viral than other promotional videos I've seen. Anyway, personally I think I would be happy to take cryptocurrency as at least part payment for salary, and depending on circumstances, the whole amount.
If you asked me a few months ago, preferably in May or June, when there was a huge hype with Bitcoin and crypto, I would definitely say yes, not because the price was rapidly rising, but because there was a lot of hype regarding it. Bitcoin was everywhere, on articles, on Twitter, on Facebook, on several popular websites, thus, it was almost certain that something optimistic was going to happen, and it did. Now however, the hype has died down, the prices have crashed and the general scene seems way too risky for anything.

This may be possible for some but for me, I'd rather take my salary in cash and I will be the one to buy bitcoin or any coins. Also, it would be difficult for companies because they have to pay huge amount of transaction fees. Likewise, once a wrong address will be put in, then it would be a greta lose for the company.

For me, this is too risky. Because the cryptocurrency has no stable price. And I cannot consider it as a real job. Cryptocurrency is good as a investment not salary payment.

Absolutely, this is too risky if the value is tremendously decreasing in the market but if the value would taking to its level where its promisingly good to the point of going moon, its definately you will become rich person in a coming days. In i guess i will do it this type of salary payment if the cryptocurrency is having a huge value in times.

This is a good idea although it actually depends on the needs of the individual. But having bitcoin as a salary is also a good opportunity for people to have an imvestment and a chance to also gain some profit. If this would be how my
Salary gets to be paid, it would be better.

Of course but the salary will depend on the status of bitcoin as well. And this will never become an investment because people need to cash out their bitcoins after completing a job.

maybe this will be interesting and should be done by all companies but if it can provide comfort and convenience for employees I think if the employee understands this will not be a problem and will help once because the company if paying employees using bitcoin then as an employee should be ready to accept it and me if it becomes a leader will do the same but must be based on a valid agreement Wink

Bitcoin for salary paid, i wont do it. Because bitcoin don't have a stable price, fiat is more use full for me because its easy to use and all market in the world is accepting it rather than btc only few merchant are accepting it as a payment. But If bitcoin can legalize all over the world i would accept it as salary paid.

If I could spend it on something interesting, it would be great.
Spending your money in right place is investment and not in the right place is loss. Try to use it in Bitcoin and start your journey with low rate as it is achievable at low rate and then sell at high price when the market goes high. This will earn a lot for you and that is so called good investment. Similarly a company can also take benefit from Bitcoin if starts investments in Bitcoin and also let the employees to take their salary in Bitcoins so that they also make their future better.

What, drugs and murder porn aren't interesting??

Cheesy

No but really. You make a good point, noob.

+5 merits for you.

99% of the total market cap value of all crypto is speculation-based.

99.99% of the fools on this forum forget its supposed to be a currency and not a vehicle for investment.

If this will be implemented on the companies, it must be your salary in fiat will be fixed and not the amount of bitcoin. Lets say your monthly salary is 100$. In the end of the month, they must give you 100$ worth of bitcoin so that you will be good. On the other side, if the basis will be in bitcoin lets say you will be given .03 BTC in the end of the month you will be in lost especially when the price of bitcoin crashed at the time they give you your salary. If this will be implemented, your monthly salary will be the basis and they will just pay you only in bitcoin.

hmm, its look not good right now because if they paid salary with their own cryptocurrency i think it will be risky if the price of the cryptocurrency is not stable and the price is going down and going up in a second its will be risky to their salary, maybe it will decrease their salary if the price of crypto is going down

Well, why not. I bet that bitcoin will be soon widespread so why not receive a salary through bitcoin. This can directly be invested to bitcoin. At the same time, spare money can be savings which can be converted to invesment.

If any company dares to pay for salary using bitcoin in my country, I would be a very enthusiastic person to apply for a job in the company because with a paycheck using bitcoin we can make an investment of half the salary that other workers cannot do companies that do not pay the salaries of workers with bitcoin.

Bitcoins can be used as a salary but the only problem is the transportation fee because it was very expensive sometimes depending on what exchanger you are placing your coins but i believe that it will be much cheaper in the future since the technology is improving.

Bitcoi is too volatile to be used as a salary currency. Thus you could never know how much excatly would you get.
Also to receive salary in bitcoin there should be some preconditions, like regulation and the law that enables this. Otherwise companies could not justify such actions and theymight have serious troubles with authorities. Or you could only receive your paycheck through some informal chanels which is not good.

hahaha. thats an innovative idea these days. but i prefer conventional money. paying your job with cryptocurrency will only adding your job (to analyze it wether you should sell or hold it tight). after all, not all people know and learn about cryptocurrency. why would they receive payments they didnt understand how to use it.

I don't think that a good idea for employers and employee.  Company's have to know their operating cost which includes salaries and the rise and fall of bitcoin price will affect that cost.  For employees who are expecting a certain amount of money for their salary to pay for their day-to-day expenses, that could be a problem.

I think it have good impact and bad impact to employer. When people get paid and after that the price of bitcoin increase it is good for employe but in other side that will risky for employee

I would also love to get paid in cryptocurrency. It would be very convenient, I won't have to buy coins again.
