I was trying to find info on this, but my search attempts failed.

Is there any performance mining wise vs the two? Or any big factors I should know about? I've been using 7 to date, but I'd like to start installing windows xp to usb disks and don't want to have to purchase 16gb usb drives just becuase of the needed space.

Excellent to hear. Now as long as they keep pumping out drivers for xp I'll be in business.

Drivers would seem to be the main issue, double check compatibility with those. XP is an aging OS and is almost EOLed on Microsoft's end.

XP is 5mhash/s faster but win7 can be bought up to the same speed by turning aero theme off.

ATI did relased the last Win2k compatible driver (6.2) after Win2k's EOL...

Or you could install this dedicated Linux environment to those USB sticks and use it for mining. Very stable and easy to configure.
