I do not know if I can call myself a genius or lucky, but I bought about 25% of my ETH when it was below $450 recently last month, and managed to trigger all of my sell orders on $700. You are doing to it wrong if you are waiting for such longer periods of time to buy a coin as it can go through complete bull and bear cycles during that time period. What you need to do is daily cost average as that way you wont have to worry about the price and you would avoid buying at the top.
