Don't spread a wrong information to only two options you've said above. The market is composed of different thing, good one and bad one. Bitcoin, alternative coins ( tokens ) and shitcoins. Don't left off the alternative coins cause there are so many kind of alternative coins that already exist and 100 percent functioning. Just look at this site ( https://coinmarketcap.com/ ) , you can see atleast 100 top crypto currencies who have a good value and quite huge of circulation supply around the market you use to be with. Understand those thing before jumping into a wrong conclusion.

The price of bitcoin is very unstable. When we take a look at a graph that shows bitcoin's price, we will see the big difference from 2017 to 2018. But even though the price is very low. It willstilll recover again because that is what bitcoin do. Become low and will become after a year.

It will sure keep being the first point of reference for anyone coming into the cryptocurrency ecosystem for the first time and would also keep remaining the main point of the news when relating to crypto most of the time, as that first movers advantage is one thing you can never take away from it and for the fact that the value of each altcoin price is tied to bitcoin's movement.

Over time, I believe most markets will start finding a ground to increase in value but I really would not bank on them for long term purposes. Even the general term crytpto currencies is denoting all the altcoins and bitcoin but when it comes for investing and holding for years, I do forget all the altcoins but sticking only with bitcoin and speculating its price levels alone.

There are many coins that can compete with bitcoin and have high prices. Altcoins like Cardano, Stellar and Ripple can be coins that you are considering buying. But to surpass the value of bitcoin, there is no single altcoin that can do that.

Using the word "compete" though even sound a lot more which I believe it would be a hard thing to get into competition with bitcoin due to the fact that it would remain bitcoin and other coins will always be altcoins. Like they always say, we only have two coins in the market, bitcoin and altcoins. Yeah, a lot of the cryptocurrency you have mentioned can increase in value over time, but we already know that their value is most of the time centered on bitcoin and they usually get back to their historical supports in the long run anyway.

This probably means that you entered in this market in December if that is the case then you choose probably the worst time to try to make money in this market, but you're lucky even in these difficult market conditions you can still make money but it is going to be a lot more difficult than in the past, if you want to make money you have no other option but to study the market and try to find good opportunities to invest, this is going to take time but it's completely worth it was you learn how to do it.

If the demand is higher for that product/coin/service is high then the price would skyrocket. But if there's not much demand on it that's what they need to look on how they would market it. They are marketing with the so called products and that's right about bitcoin it has no team, no product, no government or anybody that controls or predicts the price.

When we talk of the real cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is the main, so don’t expect any other crypto to beat the value of Bitcoin cause they are just alternatives. When investors wants to invest their money they mainly talk about Bitcoin and whatever that is left goes to alternative coins (Altcoins). That was the worst time for bitcoin when the price pumps to $20000. People thought that now the price will grow more and more but the facts were different from their predictions. It fell down again and most people lost thousands of dollars in a single bitcoin. They are dishearten and left this world forever. They thought that cryptocurrency investment is totally gambling.
