dosent matter now, Nicehash has added Lyra2z so the good profits are dead , like every other algo nicehash adds Sad

RIP
it was good while it lasted tho, i still have my 580's mining it for a few bucks a day per card

~Got this girl in my bed, a roof over my head, i mint a couple coins a week, and thats how i make bread~

Hey guys,

How do you managed to autorun this miner? In HiveOS via rc.local or crontab it doesn't work (very low hashrate, I supposed because VGA drivers were not initialized yet)

I can't get this to auto run from rc.local in hive. Can you share what you did to make this work? Couldn't you just put a sleep 90 in there before you start the miner to have it wait for drivers?

Well, I did it, probably not the best solution, but it works. Here you are.

1)rm /hive/xmr-stak/xmr-stak.sh to xmr-stak.sh.bak
2)ln -s /user/home/tdxminer-startup.sh /hive/xmr-stak/xmr-stak.sh
3) Configure in web interface of your Hive your rig to ANY wallet on xmr-stak

tdxminer script will be running instead of standard xmr-stak

Hello vega owners..
What about playing with pp_table in linux?
Power consumption too much for lyra2z without ppt. 300w per card.
rocm-smi  cannot control voltage. May be other tools? I don't know. And can't find answers in google and forums about Vegas.
Tools For RX5XX does not compatible to control vegs's.
---
I try to change hex settings to control voltage. But when apply i see errors and nothing happened except system freeze and kernel panic.

Best solution I found to reduce power is this command:
sudo /opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi --setsclk 0 1 2 3 4 5 --setfan 155
Could do 4 or 5 for the clock depending on how much power you feel like burning.
Do not run at stock clocks. As you found out the power usage is crazy and your card's health will be a problem if you continue doing that.

I do not think there is an easy solution for voltage. Probably involves modifying drivers/kernels or similar. Maybe someone knowledgeable will share. But I doubt it, as this kind of information tends to be kept private for some reason.

Yesterday i try modify vega bios. I write new good powerplaytable directly in bios, calculate checksum, run Atikmdag patcher and burn.
But.. Nothing happened. Windows can't run card. Same for linux. Return original bios back.
I think if possible to do that its will be very cool for linux solution.
Yeah i play with --setsclk, but good consumption for v64 only 0 and 1. For v54 is 3, 4.
with "--setperflevel high" consumption like NeoScrypt or more) with "--setperflevel low" - consumption very low but also mining speed about 4M.

Best solution I found to reduce power is this command:
sudo /opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi --setsclk 0 1 2 3 4 5 --setfan 155

Vega doesn't boot without a signed bios, so you can't edit.

Ah missed the Vega part. Sry man, I am tired, to much to read and to do Sad
I guess Vegas don't work with Hive?

But you could basically just use the tool I used on hive to adjust the voltage and clocks right? Or am I missing something.

@todxx

Is it possible for a computer novice running SMOS to figure this out?

I also have windows rigs but all my AMDs are just on SMOS hashing ETH.

I have 20 RX 580 8gb that I’d be happy to try this on, I just need so much hand holding that it isn’t worth your time.

I messaged the smos dev he said use the voting feature to get it added to smos....

It's annoying as I have paid thousands in fees already to smos and they won't add something that will double the profit over ethereum for amd rigs.

Please vote for this if you are using smos, I'm about to go to pxe boot and bail out of smos.
