This news have become viral in the Philippine television as well as in the social media. The so called company was named New G, I was once tempted to invest on that but I did change my mind and place my investment on a legit site with trusted reviews. There are many circulating news as to how their system collapse, some said it was because their system is a ponzi scheme and when nobody wants to invest they started to collapse and run with the money. The other reason was probably they went bankrupt when bitcoins value fell down from 20k$ to 6700$. Whatever the reason be the public is angry and wanted their investment back.

Good to see that they are caught, there was a similar incident few days ago when a scumbag named Amit Bhardwaj was arrested. He was behind many crypto investing ponzi scheme and big scams that just robbed people off their money (mostly from India and other parts of Asia).

These days the news headlines in the Philippines say "Bitcoin Scam." It is very misleading and the reporters should have done more research on how they've described Bitcoin. The scam group used Bitcoin as a medium. Bitcoin itself is not a scam. People in the Philippines need more education on these kinds of stuff. I also hate the fact that these reporters are not being careful of what they put on mass media.

i really do not understand why people scam when the sky is big and wide enough for everyone to fly. why not use the scam energy to work and earn your own bitcoin rather than try to rob someone else of their hard earned bitcoin. some people even have sleepless nights, tireless days just to get bitcoin only to lose it to hackers. i really hope they punish them for the act.

In fact, some of my friends who knows that I am into bitcoina nd crypptocurrency shared the news video adn tagged me, saying that it is, indeed a scam. It has become too tiresome to explain to them that bitcoin is often used in scams and scamming, it is not a scam, itself. Anyway, the main reason why they became a victim of this company was because they invested with blind eye. They were told that if they invest, their money will easily be doubled. That is why, I agree with you that research is needed. One should not invest or join any groups acts that involves money, unless they have a full knowledge of what they are getting into. The couple took the bait of earning double without even knowing what bitcoin is and how their money will double.

This is a good lesson for those who are into cryptocurrency just because it is "trending" or "easy money-making way." Lesson well learned for them.

That's the main reason why Philippine economy is not improving, due to a bunch of scammers and illegal activities, and now they are using bitcoin for they're evil deeds because of bitcoin's popularity that's why its easy for them to manipulate people. Even in other country bitcoin scammers is plenty and I've been scam last year also when bitcoin price is very high, they say that they are mining bitcoin and they need investor's in order to mine but after few months of investing to them they suddenly shutdown and don't comeback, imagine how people desperate to have money today, its like an outbreak.
