0.6.6a on Linux (Ubuntu 11.04 32-bit) seems to be working for me.

A few issues though:
1) 'e' for exit does not exit CP

2) the console output shows that a server is set and connected, and that there are miners running with their Mh/s, etc., but it doesn't show when any of the shares are accepted/rejected.  I am running with the -stats and -logging switches

3) this pool isn't that important, but I noticed that btcmonkey had an mistake in the default cfg file where the "i" was missing in "bitcoinmonkey.com" in the host section.
1) Press e + Enter
2) That's because poclbm itself does not display the messages on Linux (I don't know why, on Windows it does). However, you can still see how many shares you've submitted in the live stats displayed.
3) Thanks, I'll fix that!

I paid 0.40 for this broken software? Not only is it not easy to configure, but when i did, and pointed it to eligius, it automatically set the url to 127.0.0.1 i.e localhost

Its always prudent to do a little research before making accusations. Had you read this thread or even searched it, you would see other people including myself have encountered and easily fixed your problem by either reinstalling poclbm or downloading a different version. I found m0mchils version to work perfectly

The thread is too big. If the info is compiled in the first post, like it should be. Plus, i paid here, i need actual support.

FYI momchil IS the person who wrote poclbm, there is no "his version". It's HIS software.

Anywho i fixed it...now which pools are..."supported" i.e stats are not delayed?

there's nothing broken about cherrypicking that you fixed. here's the pools that i use. bitcoinlc delays stats but sometimes you can catch an early round. maybe there's more prop pools that can be added. score is more efficient than pplns for hoping and slush's is the only score pool i use

That has nothing to do with CherryPicking, it's because of poclbm, CherryPicking did not set the URL to 127.0.0.1 (unless you edited a pool cfg and pointed it to that). Deleting your copy and downloading it again is the simplest solution.

What info is missing from the opening post? Tell me and I'll add it. As for the pools, that's each user's choice, the .cfgs that I have provided are there simply for convenience. I provide the hopping software, which pools you choose to hop is your decision. If you want to hop a pool that uses a supported payment type that doesn't already have a .cfg you can either tell me or of course write it yourself.

Regarding ease of use, all you have to do is point it to poclbm, choose your pools (which as I've said, is each user's own choice, not mine to make) and obviously add your pool credentials, then double-click a .bat file and it's running, I don't know how to make it any easier, this is all required information for hopping that I cannot know beforehand, predict or have CherryPicking somehow auto-detect.

I'm of course open to suggestion regarding anything to make this even easier, but right now I admit I have no better ideas myself. Making your own .cfgs isn't that easy because you need to know regular expressions, but that's why I provide .cfgs that I have written and why I'll add pools people ask me about, provided that CP can work with them in the first place.

Triple not working.

I have checked through the posts and I believe I have everything in the config file correct.

JSON=http://api.triplemining.com/json/stats

HashEx2=\d+\.?\d*
SharesEx1=-->[ 0-9]+</td>
SharesEx2=[ 0-9]+
SharesRemove=

Miner=k... N.....

But it keeps telling me "Update error or pool considered invalid (lagging or down)" in the log file.

Any ideas...

You have the wrong URI for stats scraping (they don't provide hash rate in JSON so we have to get the data from their web page)
Replace your current JSON entry with this:
Code:
JSON=https://www.triplemining.com/stats
Everything else looks fine, keeping in mind that there's a space after SharesRemove= too, it has to be there in order for it to work.

I suppose you have copied the certificates file over? If not, do that, info in the 2nd post.
Make sure you've copied it in the proper place, if it still doesn't work you can try reinstalling the JRE (v6 latest update). If that still doesn't work, try running InstallCert yourself, I've written a guide in this thread.

New 'how to hop' blog post - How to hop 3: the 50-50 tax

This week I take a break from exponentially scored pools to look at how to hop this new type of scored pool. Then I  show you the best way to determine when to hop from one type of pool to another (and it's not always the pool with the least shares). Read it and reap!

Still hoppable. This only changes the hop off point. Give me some time to finish the slush blogs, and I'll make bitcoinpool hoppable again.
yes it will, you just need to calculate the penalty for leaving, so i bet the point will be around 0,2x  Grin

myself, you and I were both out by about 100%

from 0,2x to 0,237x is not much is only 0,037x so i was damn close, but i bet you dint get the x thing http://hoppersden.info/w/X

Sorry, thought you meant a penalty of 0.2*0.43, in which case I thought much the same. You're right - I didn't get the x thing.

I guess you win the bet then!

I can't follow that link - in fact I can't get on to the hoppersden wiki at all atm. I'll try when I get home.

mtred - 0.02212165
bitcoinlc - 0.04390048

Sorry, but while i have 680mh/s and do game a bit so only 270 actually help there, this is all i've made in some time of using cherrypicking. Somehow it doesnt add up...

To figure out your expected reward as a miner you can use 3 things: the difficulty under which you submitted the shares, the total time you've been mining, and your average hashrate for the time you're mining.

At current difficulty, if you mined at 680Mhps full time you'd expect to mine 0.39 coins on fee free PPS in about a day.

'for some time' is not an accepted SI unit of time.

You're using a SMPPS pool, one score, one good prop pool and one prop pool that delays stats and/or messes with them, you can't expect to get good results that way, you need to add more prop pools, that's how hopping works. Furthermore, make sure to always have a PPS pool in your pool list, if you do not correct hopping is not guaranteed.

Does anyone know of a way to restart a poclbm.exe if you are running Cherry Picking on windows and one of the sessions crashes?

I have a 6 gpu rig and from time to time a poclbm.exe session will crash.  The other 5 keep running, but I don't know of a way to restart the 6th without completely exiting Cherry Picker and restarting it?

I would love any ideas....
