I added 1 minute video trying to show the noise level from the Bitmain Antminer 180GH/S unit.  I also added a few more photos from the Antminer's Control Panel Screenshots

He has missed the boat.  A 180gh miner was not the way to go..  usb sticks .  AM sold 100's of thousands of sticks.  Right now Red fury sticks sell on usa ebay at 200-250 usd in a matter of minutes.

They should be making only usb sticks  1.7gh at 2 watts  would be good enough to sell like mad.  The 180gh miner move is dumb short range thinking.   usb sticks  5x the speed of am sticks with a bit less power used per stick 2 watts a stick would sell and sell and sell and sell.

  I sold more then 1000 sticks on ebay in the usa. I know usb stick prices well.

To be trying to knock heads against KNC   is a MORON move plain and simple.     price point is a key selling point and these sellers are missing the boat trying to sell big ticket gear when the money is in the sticks.

If they shipped 1000 sticks to me at 80 usd  a stick I could sell all 1000 at 140 usd  each on ebay in a week.  Instead they are at a high price point in a market with a long wait to ship.

You speak a lot of truth, brother.  People need a cheap, easy to utilize option like USB's, etc..  Power consumption is low enough that you can run it forever without noticing a hit on the power bill, the only problem is nobody is offering a competitive option.  The 5gh sticks are overpriced, other "fury" units as well, we can only hope the USB here is priced more competitively than the larger unit.  AM made a killing selling sticks at just over what most of us would consider the ROI point, now we need the next gen of usb devices so that people who don't want to sink $1000+ into hardware have a reasonable, ready-to-ship option that is also convenient for folks like phil here who loves the eBay.  Smiley  And don't even mention the cube, it's like AM took the original Jala cases and made it their own with overpriced, power-hungry hardware.

It is really annoying to me.  I have dozens of buyers begging for  more sticks.   I do not need a cube, a jally, a blade  yada yada yada.

 I need sticks.   I sold 3 red furies at 222.22 each all sold in under 2 hours .    I have a price point issue  I need a piece of gear to be sold on under 250 and small.

Why is that ebay does not require a signature for gear under 250. And the post office has lots of small box low cost shipping with tracking.   Also buyers in the under 250 range really are a bit afraid of dropping a lot in the BTC game but have a healthy curiosity .. So buying a red fury  or a few am sticks to get in the game appeal to them.

 These buyers are the future of BTC.  If I got 50 guys into this on ebay from the beginning which I did do at least that many.  Most of them are now a bit wiser and they liked that the first seller did not bend them over and take advantage of them.   Like BFL did to me still waiting on my Jan 2013 money.

Well, at least if this is a scam, it's better than most.

Care to show a picture of the chip itself?

Looking forward to some trusted forum members doing some reviews.

Good luck on that one.  I get it..you need to roll out the marketing so there is a demand for it, but I would instead prefer to see something like Redhash TAV where the product is assembled and ready to sell NOW.  This is different thant project wasp or Klondike How?

For that matter, what's the deal with naming things after insects?  Butterfly, Wasp, Ant, what's next?

What's next? Bedding!

Bingo.  And most people have caught on too that 99% of vendors, especially those selling for BTC, are selling over what X hardware will ever produce in BTC.  Hardware purchases need to be made in cash with a calculated bet on how much BTC it will earn versus confidence in the market that the earnings will amount to more than chicken feed.

Back on topic - this is why it is good that Bitmain says they are charging USD, but the price is too high.  The auction was nonsense and winning bids were absurd for anyone look at it from a BTC/fiat perspective.  USB's are the last hope unless prices here change drastically.

Let's get back to the Miner Info!

I updated with the screenshot from BTCGUILD after 15-hour operation of The AntMiner 180GH/S version

Here is more detailed, slower videos.

http://youtu.be/uxgdAT7B_DQ

http://youtu.be/h0MPtkWZ1r8  <== Noise Level from the miner

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puHeCjNM6dc <== Initial Trailer Video

Some of you called the trailer cheesy...    (I can't give you 1 minute of your time refund.  Watch it with your own RISK!   Grin Grin Grin

Photo wise, you can download it from

http://www.asic-review.com/public/bitmain_20131118.zip

for the next week or so, then I will delete them.  (However, you can view them all at https://www.facebook.com/review.asic )

Please wait their Price Announcement!  My guess is in about 4-6 days, a few Hero Members will receive the testing units directly from Bitmain.  I'm sure they will talk about the unit's pros and cons from their perspective as well.

[UPDATE] We tested the unit for over 24-hour and it did produce about 0.14 BTC in 24 hours.

Here are after 15-hour operation of the Bitmain Antminer 180GH/S machine at BTCGUILD. Temperature and hashing seem to be stable!

The temperature is steady for the last 20 hours.

44ºC = 111.20ºF
48ºC = 118.40ºF

The system also auto-minotor the real-time temperature of the miner.  THe display is in C Degree.

Here are the actual chips.  Non-branded chips were the prototype/demo/testing versions at the lab.

Power Consumption.  (While hashing at over 180 GH/S)  Antec Neo Eco 450W Power Supply Unit in Use for this photo.

Miner was in this box when I received it.  Inside the box was padded all the way.

Bitmain AntMiner 180GH/S in Action (Tokyo Japan, Los Angeles California)

This is the BTC GUILD Screen.  These miners were fresh out of the production line in the burn-test.

AntMiner has it's own Web Based Control panel that you can configure the miners the way you want it.  (One of the screen will show your hashrate, miner temperature, pool info and others.

When I was there, they were very seroius about the quality control of their units.  Many people were assigned to do their hands and visual check and testing to ensure highest quality as possible.  It reminded me the good ol'e days Quality Control from the Japanese Manufactures.

Production Lines...

Preparing the Computer's PSU for the AntMiner was easy! It was just a few minutes of preparation.  I will update later with detailed instructions for someone who have never used computer's PSU for the miner's power source.

This unit has a built-in Wi-Fi option, but to get the max mining power & stable mining, Ethernet connection is recommend!

If you must mine via Wi-Fi, I will update you guys with a quick workaround to get the full mining power without taxing the AntMiner with the Wi-Fi Processing.

Also, this machine could be mining efficiently than 3 units of BFL 60GH/S.  As others reviewed BFL's 60GH unit to mine about 0.01 BTC a day.  At this point it's still going up but less than 24-hour period, it mined BTC 0.06 BTC so far  (For newbees, Please DO NOT forget that the difficulties changes almost weekly.  The number of BTC you mine with any miners will decrease as the difficulties go up!!

I bet that´s awesome when you get one for free (well, for writing only good stuff about the unit and the company) but not so good for people who´s going to spend 2,8K USD just out of stupidity Wink

Going to be a brutal wake up call for Bitmains customers within a couple of weeks.

Not really a free unit for us.  Last minutes International Air Fair can be very expensive.  Not to mention the hotels and other expense.  It was over 4 BTC cashing out to finance this trip!  Don't forget about many hours of abusing my butt on the airplane seats...   Angry    The main reason for starting the review is to STOP anymore Pre-Order $$$ Loss for the community.  Millions of USD and countless hours were lost in 2013.

As more hours of burn test are complelted, I'm sure not 100% positive things.  If you never mined BTC in the past or never used the ASIC Miners, it could be a little speed bump to set it up initially but it doesn't seem too hard.  As time allowed, I will try to get the Start-Up Guide with photos for Step by Step in the next few days before they do the public sale.  This way, the buyer will have good idea what they are paying for.

The trip was great and their hospitality was great as well! (At least now you don't have to worry about paying for the AntMiner and getting a bad e-mail notification like BFL nightmare.)   You know you are paying for something that does exist.

One thing I know for sure is that I CAN NOT make everyone happy but our main goal is to service the mass!  (Try to save people from experiencing the frustration of Pre-Orders and $$$ Loss as many lost their life saving in 2013)  Younger guys and gals may be able to recoup the loss in the next 20-30 years, but the older guys are not so lucky...   Angry Angry Angry

Any Critiques you have, we will take them to better service more people.  (Please Bring them to our attention, but let's keep this forum area for the BitMain AntMiner issues ONLY)

I have a few more other products in the future review.  Currently communicating with other manufactures to include some invites to their office & factory.

So far, Donation Amount is $0.00, if there were more funds, we could cover more new companies as the info pops out, rather than speculating if the company is a Scam or Legit or Questionable.

Also, don't forget.  Bitmain has enough market in China alone to sell in their local currency with the local law, not to worry about the international sales involving currency exchanges, different customer service standards and many other issues related to opening the market, HOWEVER, they are more than willing to step into the International World with their AntMiner.

Let's give them a chance to better serve us the customers!  (I wish I could purchase extra units to take home with me by paying Cash or BTC at the factory but they are trying to be fair to everyone)  Price wise, let's face it, Even they price it at $5,000 USD, their stocks will be sold out due to the demad in the market.  (Currently no other reputable companies have the miners in stock that are ready-to-ship...)  I wish I could disclose how their business was setup but it's a decent size company and it wasn't the fly-by-the-night deal on the corporate side.

Hopefully, the public sale price will come down.  (Remember Apple iPhone5S, people were paying over $2,000 USD on the first 2-3 weeks of the sales due to the lack of supply in the market verses the demand.)

I was eagerly looking forward to this and hoping it would be priced with a reasonable chance of ROI.

The problem with running an auction for the first machines (as happened with asicminer) is that there are enough people who don't care about ROI and just want to have new equipment that the price ends up being way too high.

The manufacturer then sees that people will pay $4500 for it and prices it accordingly.

While it's undoubtedly more efficient that BFL's hardware, if your 60GH/s BFL device is earning 0.01BTC/day, you need to stop mining on a pool with 80% fees.

Exactly!!!

Price wise, I have no influence to Bitmain, as my primary purpose was to identify if BitMain AntMiner actually existed and able to mine with stated capacity!

The temperature is steady for the last 20 hours.

44ºC = 111.20ºF
48ºC = 118.40ºF

The system also auto-minotor the real-time temperature of the miner.  THe display is in C Degree.
