I paid around 460$ for 6 Ant S1 on 15/2/14: Vietnam customs did not believe any kind of machine that cost 150 USD including shipping (declared by Bitmain) and they need proofs. Bitmaintech sent me invoices but it did not help and they calculated Tax based on Bitmaintech site (1.45BTC * exchange rate). Solutions? - Cloudhashing asap with Bitmain because he knows to share the risks and benefits with us nicely. - Declare reasonable prices of miners in USD just for Customs checking purposes. When we check out our orders, it will appear as normal: real numbers of BTC we have to pay. It is not good though.

You guys in EU get screwed with import taxes. Makes mining even more difficult. I got lucky. Shipped 25th arrived next day to Las Vegas. flight was going into the time zone in my favor. It is possible that US customs can hold up my packages but they never have. Only one technobit miner was opened for inspection but it was cleared in mins acording to dhl. Knock on wood never had to pay a import fee. Good luck

Bitmain are declaring item value $900 up from $145.
This means you will pay duty on goods worth $900 doesn't matter where you live simple!
I'm not complaining less than $1000 for an Ant S1 customs and delivery! Bargin!

I've ordered about 20 ants over the last months, duty was always around €50 to €30 and the last ones were free. I can set myself to seeing this as being lucky for not having to pay much. However, because the costs have never been high, everybody counts on them to stay low. The big problem here is that Bitmain decided to ship them out as $900 value WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE ABOUT IT!!They should know this brings extra costs for their customers, so why didn't they tell? Probably because they were afraid for getting less orders. I personally would still have ordered with them, but then at least I knew I could count on additional costs which I could include in my calculations. The problem is not them changing it, the problem is them not telling us.

Hiya, I'm feeling the same Last order was of 2 ants and I paid 44GBP. I'm a bit in a hurry today...so decided that I would call UPS to check d/t and get the cheque ready... the lady tells me 304GBP for 3 ants! So I disputed the value with UPS and send an email to Bitmaintech.... To see here that I'm not the only one and that the value isn't by mistake that HIGH. Would have liked a headsup on their site... Hope they/we can work out an solution as d/t from 15GPB to 101GBP per ant is a bit much...

Question guys, it must have happened to one of you... I have made a purchase, and by the time my BTC was confirmed my order has expired. As usual, I have email the Bitmain team, no respond as usual but I was wondering if you guys ever had this issue.
EDIT: They actually just changed the status, they dont respond to emails but do make the changes...
Also my Antminer should be arriving today, £100 - £120 for custom fees does sound a lot.
Another thing the price of the Antminer S1 is dropping day by day... Last Friday I bought one for 1.45, yesterday bought another for 1.4 and today the price is 1.37... This is pretty much a great news but I can't help and wonder if the Bitmain guys are trying to sell their current stock and release a newer version of S1.

Sure no problems with paying D/T. But being informed about a change like this...saves me from a possible hart attack. I'm fairly new to mining, so I had to buy the bitcoins. Costing me 1600 GBP. If I need to pay an extra 300GBP....i'd like to have them..

Update, sent Bitmain a PM on here (no reply to either of my emails) and they said this... (I hope they don't mind me quoting them) "Declaring the true value is requested by the customs, otherwise miners will be stuck when importing, the customs is keeping an eye on Ants, they clearly know the miners' value." http://versionuk.com/AntFarm.jpgLooks like this will be the standard from now on.

I will post that quote in the another thread, so now one of the better thing when you buy at bitmain has just vanished

From Sushi: also, rejecting the packages at the customs will not earn you the refund either. will cost you additional $750 USD in tax for the factory to receive it due to the chinese tax
