maybe bitcoin core ? it is a wallet that can be installed to your computer with different operating systems available.

Hardware wallets with the highest level of safety are the best..Trezor, DigitalBitbox, KeepKey and Ledger Nano S..You can not have security problems with these wallets.

From the point of view of security, the best wallet is the one whose private key is printed on paper with using of computer not connected to the Internet. And the paper with the key should be stored under your pillow

This depends on what country or what wallet do you want to use for safekeeping. Bitcoin can be kept in exchange websites but this exposes a risk of being hacked because you are not sure if that website is safe. You can also use a ledger which is a hardware wallet and it might be useful for keeping your Bitcoin away from the internet.

You should look no further than Ledger Nano S. If money is not an issue, I would suggest ordering 2 of them at the same time. If you loose one you can always get access to your wallet with the second one
