Does this forum store IP addresses?

I'm new here. I was surprised to find I could not register via a proxy, though can use the site via one. The implication of this is that the forum stores the IP address from which people initially register. Is that the case?

I've had forums that would not allow me to register from inside a vpn, believe the simply banned the IP address from that company.

I use Private Internet Access; I think you can register through their VPN.

Mods and admins can see you IP.

There are so many Scam Scanner on the forum, if it's one, one of the many scanners will catch on to you

Well that's disappointing. I'd have thought that in order to avoid being forced into snooping by the local authorities they would deliberately avoid retaining IP address information.

do they store IPs for anti-spam etc?

Also, according to whois it is based in the Netherlands, yes? That is a comfort at least.

Is the forum willing to disclose a list of IP's used by a user when requested by a Law Enforcement agency?

If so, is it a blanket thing where all requests are complied with, or is each request checked by the forum staff before giving out the information?

Not that I fear a LEA requesting my IP's I'm just curious how the forum handles or plans to handle situations like this.

Anyone who is worried about the forum logging IP addresses should be using Tor to access the website.

These pages are only available to those in membergroups granted the permission to Moderate forum members.

   Activity - Here, you can view the Most recent IP address used by the member, along with the IPs used in messages, IPs used in error messages, and members possibly in the same range. Below that are any error messages caused by that member.

   IP Address - Here, you can track the member's current IP address (or type in a different one) and do things such as view Whois records and view other members from the same IP/range. Also you can view messages posted at the IP/range entered and view errors caused by members from that IP/range as well.

If you mean spamming or scamming I'm certainly not planning anything like that. Part of it is that I like anonymity, but darknets user numbers are too low in general (on forums etc)

For example, I wish to procure some specialist professional services in a way that they cannot be linked back to me at all. Bitcoin seems an ideal vehicle through which to make the transaction (via a mixer), but I still need to be able to advertise the requirement somewhere, hence signing up here.

Hehe. Yes, I think it's best to assume that all non-encrypted data is available to the site administrators to store/sift/share. Just make sure you never do anything you're not supposed to be doing and you should be okay. LOL

Yes.

Theymos (the only person who is supposed to handle these requests) will only release IP addresses to law enforcement if he personally believes that a legitimate crime was committed (regardless of the laws of any country) and he personally has access to strong evidence that this was the case. For example, if the German police contacted him to request the IP addresses of a Holocaust denier, he would reject the request outright.

Yes, all the time. However, since it's hard for law enforcement to figure out how to contact Theymos, he generally only gets requests that meet his criteria.

I've had no issues using a VPN or browsing via Tor.
