Internet bandwidth requirements for ASIC's

Hi guys

What kind of internet connection would be required to run a 60GH/s ASIC? Is the bandwidth under constant strain whilst mining or is the mathematical problem given to the computer, then once the problem is solved only then is the bandwidth used to send the information back? Currently on a lower tier connection and wondering if I should upgrade (yes I know faster is better....despite what my gf says) but if I could get away without raising the monthly outgoings it would be beneficial. Is the growth in requirement linear? for example if 2TH/s were put on the connection.

Not much as long as your using stratum for the protocol.  MFG's have been embeding getwork in their ASIC's.  That's just insane.

A few tens of kilobytes per second.  You could mine OK on a 128Kb ISDN line.  It'd be tight, but it'd work.

It really depends on what difficulty share you are mining and your hashing speed. High difficulty and low hashing speeds are most bandwidth friendly.
