shouldnt you just be giving this to the people you owe all that btc to for an agreed amount to be knocked off your dept?

I don't think you should be doing business with other peole in the bitcoin economy until you have repaid everyone you hav ripped off.

He's offering a service that is needed and valued by his customers.  For your own self-interest, wouldn't it make more sense to ENCOURAGE him to be successful with it?
