Well I don't personally bet too much on any of those two... just because the upside potential in good altcoins and tokens is much greater than in the established ones like BTC and ETH. Upside multiples can be a totally different game. You just need to do your research carefully and don't trust ICO listing sites etc. because ratings can be bought. Careful research is very important to avoid scams and other low quality projects - don't trust anyone but your own research!

I have been recently following Stellar that is generally on the rise and the tokens issued on the Stellar platform - now there is a bump like in any cryptocurrency over the past few days, but generally Stellar is on the rise because of the prospective Coinbase listing and other advances. This will also boost tokens issued on the Stellar platform...

My most recent find among alts is AXU, "Argentas Exchange Unit" token issued on the Stellar platform and listed and verified on the Stellarport decentralized exchange, now only at its pre-distribution, or pre-ICO phase. A true hidden diamond, with low profile so far. Experienced people clearly, and cool tech for decentralizing and revolutionizing global banking - their website at argentas.io.

The pre-ICO price is 50% cheaper than the ICO price, a sure winner IMO, and I will certainly get some. They also have an ANN thread, I think here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4431900.0. I dug really deep in their content, and it is really cool stuff Grin But don’t forget your own research!

Stellar has also taken a hit recently but overall it's a good project with a strong use case and already existing customers in the IT industry like IBM. But I would still rather build a portfolio of coins than to pick just a handful regardless which these are.

Bitcoin will always be the best choice for long-term investments . You can withdraw a portion in cash , the rest in bitcoin

Surely it is better to spread the risk and split your investment between both Bitcoin and Ethereum? I was always taught not to put all of my eggs in one basket when it came to investing. They both seem to move in tandem so what you are doing is hedging in case one of them has a technical problem or is surpassed by better technology.

150 ETH OR 9.5 BTC?
Almost worth the same value now,  but which one is better for holding untill DEC 2018?

I recommend keeping 150 ETH.
It carries many practical applications

It seems to me that investment in Etherium will bring the greatest profit in short-term investments

I would go with Bitcoin right now.  Since we are in desperation territory I would hold BTC until it starts to run.  With a bit of good timing once Bitcoin starts to fade jump into Ethereum for the big Alt ride to the moon.

if I have that kind of money then I will divide 50% ETH 50% BTC because both are very good to be used as long-term investments and both will also give us a lot of benefits in the future

If both are profitable, spread the investment and the eggs should never be placed in a basket. This is something we should know. If it is me, my choice is that both will invest.

I also think that 4.25 BTC and 75 ETH is a good option.  And investing in two coins is less risky.

Now it is unclear which coin will grow faster in price, but it seems that this year the BTC will be more profitable than ETH.

I would hold Bitcoin right now until the bear is confirmed dead.  As soon as I thought the bloodbath was over I would switch to Ethereum for the elevator ride up.  I believe Ethereum will outperform Bitcoin percentage wise during the next bull.

During this EFT fever days, BTC has more chance of getting a higher ROI in the short term. This will likely be the catalyst - ETF .
Not to mention some of the un-named sources boosts confidence about CBOE application. It is one of the most solid application so far.

See you after Sept 30 (SEC Decision) or sooner whichever comes first..

In my opinion, it's best to put it all in ETH, as it will feel much more and you will be able to make more money with the growth of the market, and yet because I am a supporter of this coin and believe that it will show good growth this year

I personally prefer to buy bitcoin. if seen from the price movements of bitcoin more likely to have more potential. but if you have a lot of capital you can consider ethereum too. so it's better to always be careful before you want to invest because I think the two coins have their own potential

Both are highly profitable by the end of year and they are good for investment. Two types of coins are different, but they are the first two digital coins to be created and leader in today's cryptographic technology.

You could not be wrong in both situations. But i would give slightely advantage to ETH considering that they are currently in much bigger bear market which will result bigger value.

I have seen a lot of very good suggestions in the above answers. Their reasons are also very good, but my suggestion is, no matter what time, which year. The one we need to hold the most must be BTC.
