This kinda ruins the whole concept of the blockchain.It has to be open source and open to the public for free.

Agreed that quite alright even moralists can't dictate what happens in business especially one with an open source if men with scared conscience decide otherwise. Well, this is the downside with technology. When people see an invention as promising, they will utilize it and improve it then later on claim it as theirs. How sad is that for those who originally crafted said invention. All people are doing is to change a little bit of something to the invention then trademark the same as theirs. More so, when nefarious people find something witty, they will use a good invention to proliferate their nonsensical and/or illegitimate causes. Show me something that can be useful to the criminals and isn't used by them. They are using electric drills and angle grinders to break into houses, safes, cars... Do people care about it? Have you seen anybody talking about a possible negative aspect of power tools? Maybe we should start to limit access to these type of things. Maybe we should ask buyers for IDs?
