well i withdrew .044 btc from freebitcoins.org to my wallet to see if the transaction will go thru. so far i havent gotten anything.  Am i suppose to be able to see the transaction pending in my wallet? cause im not right now and my blocks are up i beleive 139185 as it stands right now? can anyone tell me if its normal or a problem?
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Check if you see the transaction in block explorer first. If you don't see it there, it hasn't happened yet.

Sometimes can take several hours, especially if you didn't include any transaction fee.
