Are you implying that "they" own most of the Bitcoin supply? Because as far as im concerned, the biggest whales aren't part of the so called Illuminati. Satoshi has a lot of coins, but there are groups of people which have bigger sums than Satoshi's stack. Overall I don't see how they benefit from it, unless they have amassed a sum enough to be the top holders of Bitcoin and somehow are aware of that, which I don't see how since no one knows how much the next guy has.

i would not doubt that because of the particular construct and resilience of bitcoins , because the particular construction of bitcoins and the blockchain does not look like it was done as just a "side project" it construct is revolutionary and obviously this seems like a lifetime project which would have been in construction for several generations now . i don't know any financial product which could have survived the amount of world pressure that bitcoins has endured. this tells me that the backers are world leaders and very powerful people.
