where I'm going to land,
what kind of code that page might activate on my side, and
what kind of action this webminer is supposed to initiate on my OS.

They are paying you pennies and making more profit for them by using your processor to mine a profitable cpu coin like Monero, Bytecoin , Electroneum etc.

Beside slowdowning your computer, you are not 100% sure they have not put a malicious code, backdoor or keylogger into this so called web mining program. In both cases the user is the loser so it is better to stay away from these sites.
