Over 5 BTCs and break-even becomes difficult but I do understand the novelty factor spiccioli That's what people said about the Avalon Mini auction too, but the 2.5 BTC I paid for mine (including import tax) will have me at break even in BTC around the end of this month. Other than continued shipments of Bitfury and whatever KnC ships with their second batch (plus AntMiner, obviously) there is a lot of hardware that is going to be pushed back into next year. Cointerra, BFL and most likely Hashfast will all be 2014 products.

We will have to ship 20 units to China customers tomorrow, and our production manager guaranteed me 40 units, but 50 units is also possible. And we have to ship the sample miners promised days ago, so we can only provide 20 units in this round.

i dont know what you are arguing? You dont want to pay 4.75BTC or more, then this is not an auction for you. PS: anyone still bidding 4.5 BTC or less is obviously stupid, since the bid list in posted only a few entires back and clearly shows that the minimum bid to be considered is now 4.75BTC or 5BTC

Ha - my payment address has 'sicK' in it.
wouldn't it be prudent to send postage info via PM exclusively? I'm imagining some yoyo watching my payment address and then emailing their own postage details when they see the transaction lol.

Will send BTC this afternoon (loading paper wallet now) and email info.
however - is it fair that some winning bids are 4.75 and others are 5.00? My impression was that in a situation like that, the winning bids should be all considered 4.75? (if not, maybe i just havent been in enough auctions!)
How soon do the products ship and by what method? I would be quite impressed if delivery occurs sometime next week.

^nvm...
"Uniform price auction: “All winning bidders pay a per unit price equal to the lowest winning bid (the lowest bid out of the buyers who actually received one or more units of the commodity) - regardless of their actual bid.”- quoted from wiki. "
so the payment for my winning 5.00BTC bid IS actually 4.75BTC

Normally you pay what you bid but BITMAIN said everyone would pay the lowest succesfull bid so yhey are all 4.75, confirmed here... So the price of units will be 4.75 BTC, and this is the winning bids. Thank you very much!

Shipping within 24 hours of payment according to OP. Next week should definitely be possible depending on the shipping method (especially close by here in Japan )

"shipment with UPS within 24hrs of payment" Its been about 10hrs since i paid, and no word from them yet (night-time in china i believe) so im not worried, but would love to see an update soon! If using UPS, I assume it can be received in Ontario, Canada by the end of next week, correct? It would be worth a few extra dollars to expedite it so that im not left miner-less for a weekend waiting on a monday arrival...

Looks like UPS is open for business in Shenzhen today: http://www.ups.com/content/cn/en/locations/dropoff/#ShenzhenI can't think of any reason they wouldn't ship today (currently 2:24pm in Shenzhen right now) Not nervous yet but I will be if we don't hear from them with tracking numbers sometime in the next 3-6 hours.

Would appreciate an update from BITMAIN on the status of the auction proceedings as well. Even though it's Saturday (soon Sunday in China) for the Company, the original auction rules did state: 1. Payment must be made within 24h of winning the auction. 2. No escrow. 3. Shipping within 24h after payment.
It's not everyday people in general send 2.676,15 € 'no escrow' style..

thank god! I dont think i was the only one beginning to get antsy lol as for the question reegarding 'why no escrow?', i would assume simply because escrow adds some delay because of the third party confirmations, and these guys likely want the BTC as quick as they can in order to fund the next batch. if they had to wait a week to clear the escrow, it might mean an extra week before they can pay for the next batch of chips or pcb assembly, just a guess.

Before you received the goods, you want to read this carefully. If you have any questions, please ask.
First, you have to connect your computer and the miner directly with an Ethernet cable. Then you manually set your IP address at 192.168.2.XXX, so you can browse the control panel. This is very similar to other OpenWRT based miners.
Default user name and password: root / root
Please check the LAN setting before you change the WAN ip address. You should change the LAN into “DHCP client” mode, and click “Switch Protocol” then click “Save and apply”. Make sure the LAN interface is really in DHCP client mode. Then you can change WAN interface IP address according to your local network settings. The LAN is useless for users, but only useful to developers. If you do not follow this, and set LAN and WAN’s IP address at the same subset, you will not be able to log into the control panel again.
Don’t forget the WAN IP address you have set up. If you forget, you will not be able to login into the miner.

No reset to factory settings? No, there is not in this version of control board. That's why I posted here. Please use labels and notes. Please do not forget the login password if you change it.

Does this have to be changed? or can it be left at 192.168.2.xxx? I don't have DHCP server running on my router.

We will held a super fast auction for 30 units at around the forum time 13:00 today, and the auction last only for 2 hours, if new valid bids not show up in 20 mins. Please revist the Auction board to find our new auction thread As the auction last a short time and the quantity is larger than the first round auction, I hope you can grad some cheap miners The auction rules will be similar: Bid it now Auction total 30 S1 Dual Blades in this round. Bid starting at 1 BTC (shipping included), All bids must be evenly divisible by 0.25BTC. Specify both a price and a max quantity, if you want to bid for 2 units, 3.5 BTC each --> 2 @ 3.5 When you post a bid, the bids in your previous posts are considered to be automatically canceled. If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will win miner first. Uniform price auction: “All winning bidders pay a per unit price equal to the lowest winning bid (the lowest bid out of the buyers who actually received one or more units of the commodity) - regardless of their actual bid.”- quoted from wiki. Last valid bid extends this auction by 20 min respectively
Payment methods accepted BTC only.
Additional information 1. Payment must be made within 24h of winning the auction. 2. No escrow. 3. Shipping within 24h after payment. 4. We reserve the right to extend the auction if the forum is off and refuse certain bidders.

So in about an hour and a half then ? It's late here in the States, and I'd like to know if I should brew a pot of coffee and stay up until 3am for this auction to end

coming soon Can it be flashed through jtag if it gets bricked? Yes, but it will be mission impossible for average users to do this. In China we already have two buyers suffered this, and we have to ship them a new control board. Sorry I'm not following 100%, and I don't want to brick my unit! Assuming I had the DHCP server running on my router: 1. Manually set my subnet to 192.168.2.xxx in order to access the control panel on that subnet (192.168.2.100?). 2. Use that control panel to change the LAN to "DHCP client" mode, then "save and apply" 3. Change WAN interface IP to match my local network settings (subnet 10.1.1.xxx) 4. Set up the miner using the WAN interface IP. If you do not follow this, and set LAN and WAN’s IP address at the same subset, you will not be able to log into the control panel again. My question is - if I do steps 1 to 4, won't my LAN and WAN IP end up both on the same subnet? (10.1.1.xxx)

Please take attention that you have to make sure that the LAN interface is working in "DHCP client" mode, before you change the WAN IP address. Why not set the miner in dhcp mode by default? That way n00bs wont have to fuss with networking settings... Questions (as buyer late into the scene):- What microcontroler/computer do you use? What OS? is it tp-link with dd-wrt? Does the miner have dhcp client inside? Is their API to change settings, pools, monitoring, etc?

What gave you the first hint?

Hello, I was one of the winners of the first batch auction. It was about exactly 72 hours ago that I sent the BTCs according to my winning bid to BITMAIN in China. This morning, UPS contacted me on the arrival of my package here in Northern Europe, probably the very first unit on the "old continent". Here's a link to the picture (I did a favour and actually opened the box for you, too): https://app.younited.com/?shareObject=82dc5ac0-34d7-4431-13de-116ae719adfeSay what you will about the Company, but I consider this nothing but an impeccable delivery (and even more so, a delivery over the weekend!) That said, I haven't yet deployed the AntMiner, but will proceed to do so next. Bitmain might be "slightly overrun" by the onslaught of incoming e-mails and PMs currently - and it does not help to really post multiple messages about one thing in every thread you can find. It does seem that they do deliver.

People are asking the same questions over and over and the only thing Bitmain is responding about is their auctions. Gets irritating.

what about the customs? was there some additional charge? thank you,

I'm sure some senior members will comment to this thread with their findings, as the equipment arrives. Just wanted to drop a note here to help at least somewhat reduce the general anxiety on the topic. The package did get stuck into Customs, which is why the UPS guy called me. In this part of the world UPS has the permission to do the customs themselves (their warehouses are so called toll zones), but they do have to ask the customer whether I wanted to do it myself (or pay them for this as a service). I opted the UPS does customs -option, knowing I would have to otherwise produce further documentation on the value of goods etc. myself, which would ultimately delay the delivery with at least 1 day. They told me they will invoice the shipment customs from me, but I did not ask at that point what was going to be the total amount. I can post the sum when I receive their invoice. (Yes, I was asked for ID when picking up the shipment.) I will post some more pictures (to the other thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=330665 ...), after I've actually connected the device and have it running.

Please take attention that you have to make sure that the LAN interface is working in "DHCP client" mode, before you change the WAN IP address.[/quote] I'm STILL confused about this. If the LAN address gets set by DHCP, and I set the WAN IP to a static address on my subnet (say 192.168.1.xxx), they will end up on the same subnet, which you previously posted was a big problem and will effectively brick the unit. Furthermore - in this thread of sushi's setup instructions, he specifically says to set the WAN IP to the address on the sticker (the default LAN address) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344970.0

itamidensha,
Having just installed my device:
I found that the LAN setting was already set as "DHCP Client", but did a "Save as" anyway just to be sure. After this, I proceeded to change the WAN settings to match my local network. Sushi's guide is generally excellent, so I won't bother writing an another one.
I'll post some pictures and further findings next to the non-auction thread.

Thanks for your reply. I expect it to arrive tonight so I guess I'll figure it out. I'd still like to know what the doomsday scenario is that we're being warned against though. I really don't understand. Maybe it's simply that there's no factory reset button, so they're just warning us not to set the thing to an IP address we might forget?

DHCP Client Mode is recommended! Current unit wise, Hard-Reset may be too tricky for the users to perform. Bitmain was sending out the replacement miner for the bricked AntMiner. At least in China. How many Japanese Winners here? Do you guys need Guide in Japanese? Now the lucky winners are start receiving their miners, here is the setup guide for the AntMiner Setup Guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344970.0

Hello all, I asked one of my Chinese friend who lives in China, Shenzhen (The city that Bitmain claims their factory is located in) to call them and Buy one Antminer Unit from their Taobao Store. (You can find their store link in one their posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=340071.msg3648732#msg3648732 ) And here are their contact info my friend tried to communicate with: Ali Wang Wang: 比特大陆:李盈斐 Ali Wang Wang: 比特大陆:范晓俊 QQ: 8133455 QQ: 800022357 QQ: 9161403 Phone Number: 18611720733 Phone Number: 18911677899 They announced they will put up 30 units at 21:00, 23 November for sale. They crossed 20,000 CNY and priced the units for 18,500 CNY. My Chinese friend (who is familiar with Taobao website and usually buys from it) tried to buy one but after some unsuccessful attempt he said "they are just showing off that people are buying from their store and there is not any actual sale. They don't let me to buy and they are actually using their Taobao store to advertise their validity". And as my Chinese friend claims no one is able to buy anything from their Taobao shop. I am emphasizing that my Chinese friend tried to buy from their Taobao store on the exact time they announced and tried it for two of their announcements. I just hope my Chinese friend and I are wrong in our guess that they are scam.

Hi everyone I have got mine rig and connet it use MEANWELL swith power. This kind of power normally been used at Automation part. But in this case it running well. Just noise bigger than ATX power. The price about 70USD. Followed picture is connected miner. I have some big trouble at first started miner. Always no any hashrate. Luckly today ANTMINER engineer use teamviwer help me solved problem. The problem is maybe because of my internet envirment issue miner can not find NTPD server so cgminer stuck at there. So maybe another miner also stuck at this problem so I write down ANTMINER engineer suggest how to solve this problem: (1)modify /etc/resolv.conf,change 'nameserver' setup to DMS (2)commet ntpd out of /etc/init.d/cgminer (3)reboot This is now miner running speed realiable around 180G. I really like this miner noise lower and until now work realiable espencially have good service form supplier. Hope this can give your help. Happy mining

You should change the LAN into “DHCP client” mode
Does this have to be changed? or can it be left at 192.168.2.xxx? I don't have DHCP server running on my router. LAN is useless for the users, so you don't need worry about that. it would be nice to see a step-by-step with a few pictures to make the process more fool-proof.
coming soon Can it be flashed through jtag if it gets bricked? Yes, but it will be mission impossible for average users to do this. In China we already have two buyers suffered this, and we have to ship them a new control board. Bitmain, My machine is locked. No mining done. Can you please send a new control board asap or recommend best resolution. Do not know best practice to short...otherwise need technical assistance to short. Thank you, JK

Default user name and password: root / root.
Please do not forget the login password if you change it.And if that happens where can one get a new bitmaintech v1.2 comm board? I may have a little problem..

I got 2 of them miners and after reset one was 192.168.1.99 and the other was after resets 192.168.2.99. But it would be nice to see spare parts on Ebay or AliExpress in case something was really damaged. Any idea how to upgrade to the best cgminer for this miner? I got different versions in each one. cgminer V3.4.3-1 and the other one has cgminer V3.8.5-1
