I'm in! I win! So Far So Good!   Grin Grin Grin

Got in after Mt Gox debacle, got Dwolla in before closing gate to tradehill, got bitcoins transferred safely. Well, not all of them. But so far, so good.

I never considered for a second anything as dumb as placing my coins with Mybitcoin. (Sorry Bruce)
Never desposited more than a few hundred at a time, either. Did not get them for the best price, but not the worst either. I would say i'm still winning.

I wish I had... don't care for the idea of a circlejerk.

To be fair... you can't really loose what you don't have... I have generated only a few coin using my minimal setup.

In fact the whole bitcoin thing was an elaborate excuse for me to get a new graphics card... so Huzza!

I believe in the 5 P's. Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. Or, in this case: Proper Preparation Prevents Pirates from Plundering. Although I did lose the .02 I sent to my original MyBitcoin account to test their service!

If bitcoins ever go up to $1 Million per coin, i'll bump your post here for us to laugh at. That's make your lose at about $20,000, correct?

Haven’t lost any since February or so, when I lost ~30 BTC to a virus. I’m glad I learnt my lesson early and with little loss of money (at the time 30 USD).

Haven't been scammed yet - but that's because I moved coins out of MyBitcoin after numerous sketchy postings about it's reliability.

Never been scammed, never lost a coin, I have GIVEN coins to friends, and they have lost them carelessly never bothering to do their research and backing everything up properly lol... Lesson to be learned is don't give any Bitcoins to your friend unless they are giving you money Smiley.

Not me. I lost either $100 in the postal service or 140 odd BTC in a scam called bitcoin4cash.com, take your pick. What a welcoming way for my first Bitcoin transaction to go, way back in April. I tried contacting the guy, the only solution he could come up with was effectively "wait for it...wait for it..." until the order got "cancelled" by an "automated system" and he started ignoring my mail. It would have been worth resending for me, but how can I resend to a guy like that? I believe his alias is "Mad Hatter" on the forum.

you can donate to me for whatever reason at: 18xbnjDDXxgcvRzv5k2vmrKQHWDjYsBDCf

Neither for me.

So far I've only bought from bitcoinexchange.cc and the designated trader for Mt. Gox (sent a money order, got BTC after almost 2 weeks...)

I currently keep a few BTC with Instawallet, for quick smartphone spending. I expect to eventually lose those, so I won't be keeping a significant amount with them, or any online service.

I've been looking at the smartphone apps that handle bitcoins. Haven't actually tried any yet (would greatly appreciate updates on how well those are working at this point.)

I keep a good chunk encrypted but readily accessible, offline. But the bulk are kept in "cold storage."

My only regret so far is the bitcoin donation I made to a radio show that shall remain unnamed, after hearing one of the hosts admit he got burned in this mybitcoin thing and lost their donations. You'd think he would have learned after getting burned with Mt. Gox (after which a co-worker, on air, chided him for taking a decentralized currency and basically centralizing it.) I wanted to slap the guy. That's just ridiculously lax.

Bitcoin is the ultimate freedom test. It tells you who is giving lip service and who genuinely believes in it.

No losses so far. Even despite the MTGOX email release of my password hashes. We are all responsible for our own security. Strong passwords are the rule of the day. Avoid any single point of failure.

I'm perfectly intact. But then again, I do my due diligence and understand risk. I guess that comes with having experience trading and managing finances.

Waiting for the next scam artist to claim they 'lost' X coins by looking at transfers in the blockchain. That is always priceless. Its all in vain, though, eh?

Same here. The friends I gave testing money to usually kept them in online services and the ones that didn't just lost their wallet files. I think one of the problems here is that we, as people of Earth, don't know how to make computers do our bidding. It seemed easy to most people that computers could be regarded as magical things and we should be made to memorize separate instructions to have them do the things we were told that we would want. So, in the current picture, most users have a repertoire and can't even reason about things outside of that. Furthermore, many things computers could do for us aren't even on the table. Only benefit is, I guess, everyone uses at least one computer now, and therefore they are cheap.

Yes, I'm a CLI person. Cool
