Not me. I lost either $100 in the postal service or 140 odd BTC in a scam called bitcoin4cash.com, take your pick. What a welcoming way for my first Bitcoin transaction to go, way back in April. I tried contacting the guy, the only solution he could come up with was effectively "wait for it...wait for it..." until the order got "cancelled" by an "automated system" and he started ignoring my mail. It would have been worth resending for me, but how can I resend to a guy like that? I believe his alias is "Mad Hatter" on the forum.

Rumor has it that bitcoin4cash and mybitcoin.com were both the same guy.

I survived the MtGox event.
I have 2 wallets (Savings and Spending) - No Issues.
I have bought real world items using Bitcoins and had no problems.
As a merchant I have received Bitcoin with no problems.

I excitedly made my first ever bitcoin purchase from btcdeals.com on July 1st. Five weeks later they're shut down, the owner no longer responds to email, and my purchase never arrived.

I don't know if I was a victim of a scam, or an irresponsible vendor. Either way I'm out 4+ btc.

I have not been scammed.

I lost about 4btc a few weeks ago because my Live USB Ubuntu went kaput and freezes at startup. The data is still intact when I mount casper-rw on another PC but it's encrypted. Anyone know how I can get my sweet Bitcoins back?

You didnt backup wallet.dat? Copy the file in a couple of cd's and you are set.

wallet.dat is still there. It's just that it's encrypted and I can't access it.

I never lost any coins, unless you count the ones that didn't get mined due to a power outage.

I keep my coins on my computer in a TrueCrypt encrypted volume, which I only open briefly when I need to check my balance or send coins, and I make frequent wallet backups in a different encrypted volume on Dropbox, which gets automatically backed up to multiple physical locations (and to the cloud).

I've never considered storing Bitcoins in an e-wallet, and I only leave significant quantities of them (or of dollars) on an exchange long enough to execute a trade, and then I make an immediate withdrawal.

I had a few coins on Mt. Gox when it crashed, but I got them back through the claims process with no problems.

And, I sold all my coins prior to the market downturn of the last few days, although I am planning to re-buy as soon as the price bottoms out.

So, I haven't lost any investments or been scammed by anyone yet; of course, I could still lose money if I buy some coins and then the price crashes and never recovers... 

Also, I haven't yet recovered the full cost of my investment in mining hardware...  And it's starting to look like that may take a while.

My friend got scammed because of her greediness.
She saw a mail asking her to do verification for one Airdrops, she clicked on it and started in putting her details.
Not knowing that the mew link that was provided is a phished site.
That was how she was locked out of her wallet and all her coins gone for good.
It was very painful.

So far so good have not been scammed. But I almost got scammed few months back. I was already in 90%. It was all this binance scam. I was added to a cloned telegram group where It was named binance. I thought it was my real binance group. Suddenly I was told they were doing Eth giveaway. You send small and they multiply by 10 for you. I was 90% in before coming back to my senses.

I have lost coins and been scammed once and that was a terrible thing to happen which has a common problem for anyone in the digital currency world and also a sad thing to see because the main reason for developing bitcoin or any altcoin was to make transactions more secure from criminals but the people who use the system is much corrupted today so even these inventions are much pure and developed with good intentions users get hacked and loose there money due to hackers

I was almost a victim of it sometime last year on telegram i thought i was speaking to the right person on a kyc verification information and i was askes to send 0.0002 eth to verify then i knew it was scam i back out

Fortunately, I was not able to lose coins or be cheated by scammers. I hope this will continue. But when I read the stories of people who lost their coins, it makes me feel uncomfortable, like it's happening to me. So I have no idea how I would feel if it actually happened to me. I'll probably feel really bad.

I was losing some of my coins, but that was back at the beginning of my journey in understanding cryptocurrency. Thank God it was a small amount, but I fortunately made good conclusions from it and now imore prudent with my money.
