Are you attempting the start a self fulfilling prophecy on the weekend? How original. Smiley

Are you a bull trying to prevent history(greed) from repeating itself? I think that must be somehow more original... Even though it defies basic logic  Undecided

It's not a prophecy, we reached the peak of wave B with an inflated bid sum, almost as high as the very top.
And now it's time for capitulation. See you at the bottom!

Sometimes, if it looks too bullish, it's actually bearish

Weekend dip. It has happened almost every weekend since the start of Bitcoin Trading. Pro tip: It's the weekend. Your fiat is not clearing on Bitstamp and the basement you live in at your parents needs cleaning. Go outside. No point being a millionaire all by yourself. $1000 Bitcoin needs friends and beers to enjoy fully.

Of fuck fuck fuck. This is terrible!

Didn't check price since yesterday night, so completely missed the beginning of the crash :/

And now all the chart sites I look at seem to be stuck on wrong data, they all show a higher close than when I went to sleep yesterday night.

Can someone recommend a better site that shows the real price post-crash? Probably around 400 by now, no?

Not sure which Bitcoin wallet you should use? Get Electrum!
Electrum is an open-source lightweight client: fast, user friendly, and 100% secure.
Download the source or executables for Windows/OSX/Linux/Android from, and only from, the official Electrum homepage.

Hint: there are a lot of bears who sold earlier and were run over by the bitcoin train, so now they try to instigate a panic so they can buy back in without taking a BTC loss. They may succeed, or they may fail.. I think they will end up disappointed though. Tongue

Another bear trap is ahead.

There is too little chances to make profit from selling bitcoin now. More realistic will be just to missing train and stay sitting on worthless fiat.

90% of bears will just pay for success of those lucky 10% who will catch the wave.

To catch the wave = when a lucky bear sells on the very top of the peak.
Then buys at the lowest point of the dip without missing the train.

90% of unlucky bears will do the the following: They see that price jumped to 900 and then started to drop. They falsely assume it's crash and dump all their btc at about 850 planning to re-buy at 500-600. But then, unexpectedly, price stops at 849 and swiftly goes up to 1000. The bear is trapped.

Directly after large asks popped up, GOX was down.
Looks like manipulation.

There will be a sell off when GOX is up again. Hold to you coins and see their value crimble.

For now, this capitulation started slowly, and it will take some time to gain downward momentum.
It's not an April 10th style of crash, there aren't yet enough coins for sale to trigger a mass panic sale.
Give it time, IMO it will take several more days. I can't say anything specific, because bitcoincharts is
down since yesterday, and I need it to figure out what can happen next.

I'm back!

Another day where I went to bed and price CRASHED over night to double digits and we're in deep bear land, but all my chart sites are still stuck on old incorrect data (800+).

PLEASE somebody recommend me a new site! I can't trade like this!

Not sure which Bitcoin wallet you should use? Get Electrum!
Electrum is an open-source lightweight client: fast, user friendly, and 100% secure.
Download the source or executables for Windows/OSX/Linux/Android from, and only from, the official Electrum homepage.

Learn the lesson, learn it once....it's fucking stupid to trade on sentiment. Good work Gekko, the market is shark bait at the moment, lots of optimistic noob's thinking they can trade on trendlines and the sharks are just lopping it up.

Feels great actually, considering I bought most of my coins between $65 and $120 last Summer. Price moving up and down between $740 and $850 doesn't phase me at all. Smiley I do wonder however how you will feel when the price suddenly blows past $900 tomorrow. Cheesy

Yes, totally. I can clearly see the "return to normal":
http://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd
-> bitstamp is since 4 days significant higher than on that days where gox was at 900$ a week ago.

Its scary how similar it looks, including the first sell off/ bear trap. Still, at the end of the day its just trying to predict the future and nobody can say what it will be like.

So did this one, but it didn't crash from $125 to single digits.

I guess after an expenontial rise to new ATH it will always look similar to this.

Yeah, so IMO its only worthwhile if you day trade and take advantage of the swings when the market is volatile. For us, its usually just fun to watch people trying to turn this childboard into a savvier trollbox.

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.

Happening right now, crashing right through $900....$1000 before the week is over.

Wait until it stabilizes above 900$, then we'll see about 1000$.

Like I said, $1000 before the week was over.

As for stability....I have no idea.

From $900 to $1000 there are quite some buy orders already.

As I type this Mt. Gox is at $1140, Bitstamp is $985 (but hit $1050.18 according to Bitcoinwisdom).

Most important, I could sell a bitcoin at Coinbase for over a $1000 just a little while ago (price is now back down to $990).

So I am convinced we hit $1000 before the end of the week and I suspect any difference in opinion is just a matter of which tool/method are we using to measure price.

Thank you for being honest. This will be a lesson for non-believers.
I did the same mistake back to 2012 when I lost a lot of bitcoins the same way.
Speculation is not a good idea until the adoption is completely done.

The average price of all exchanges put together is well above $1000, and should stay like that. We will go past 1100$ I believe.

thanks for the cash OP

I've done well with day trading.  But, then again, I learned on this market, and it took a while before I could reliably earn BTC denominated profits.  Any fool can make fiat profits.

But, I've been immersed in bitcoin nearly every day for nearly 3 years now.  If you don't stay on top of everything and deeply understand the fundamentals, you are gambling and luck is what you are counting on.

So what do you think is more profitable in current scenario, holding bitcoins for 2-3 years or day-trading (Should guess the lower curve peak right in each dip though)

Don't ever day trade your entire stash.  I daytrade with only with long positions using a small amount of my btc holdings as margin.  Any profits get rolled into btc.

As i said in a previous post, when the OP said that bitcoin will go up, i sold and i 'm already at +10% !!
The guy is always wrong!!!! It's almost like he is always right but in reverse. He is a pure genius!

Gordonium man! what's going to happen from now on?

Your right I noticed this corelation as well  Wink
I still wonder if Gordonium is some big whale or just spreading FUD...

I think he has a psychic ability but he hasn't realized how to use it in his profit. Anyway as someone else mentioned can you please start giving advises for alt coins also?

You can add safely to the title - "that never happened".

OP can reopen this thread after few months and say, see I told you, not hours, but happened!

I never get tired of this show

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.
Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.

Already did, planning on buying back at 700 or so.  I may be hugely embarrassed if it continues rocketing up.

I'm considering to start premium subscription email with my wit and tips for trading. It will be really expensive but worth it. Tell me if you are interested.

Nooo you have a gift. You should be generous enough to keep sharing your amazing abilities with everyone for free.
So what we do now? Sell LTC and buy BTC?
