I thought it was my new account status but I could find nothing that talks about avatar restriction.

Tried web upload and browser upload. I recall the board hack from a while back and am wondering if they were turned off?

Sounds like I am remarkably unobservant. I did not really dig into what happened during the hacking. Is it really written somewhere that folks new to an account would be able to see it? I usually only hit the development/bitcoin/press/speculation/economics forums and only recently decided to become a member so I can comment/post.

And now there are two with a way to stop the madness:

It would be about 10 seconds for an admin to add html to that page
Avatar changes temporarily disabled
and save this confusion...
