if it is true, then it's good that police are arresting people related to bitcoin robberies, this way people who lost money can get refunded. This is why communication with givernments can do some good

Guess this was one lucky case as robbers haven't hid stolen funds well enough. It is good to see that even with cryptocurrency police is able to get the money back. But sadly I don't believe this is the case with shady things such as robberies out there. Many end up unnoticed or without the possibility to get the funds back to the right person.
Although this article provides very low amount of information regarding this case.

The link posted by OP is just a republish article from gulf news, try to check this. It even have a picture of the suspects. ________________________________________________________________ Two brothers with a $1.9m? Oh come on, there's a high possibility that they are just a front man for this epic trade OR.... maybe not if, they are those famous guy in dubai with lambos. (I'll choose the first one) Now, I'm curious what if it happened that they push to trade on an exchange. Would this make the graph move?

Earlier this month, Cointelegraph reported on a heist involving an in-person Bitcoin transaction in Singapore, in which a Malaysian man was assaulted and robbed of $365,000 in cash by two bogus Bitcoin brokers in his hotel.

It's really sad to know that in different places we notice that there are a lot of issue in regards in cryptocurrency. There are a scamming portion in some other places and there are robberies portion in dubai. In what happening now, we do recognize how people are eagerly desperate to do foolish things to others just to have crypto. This is another negative things that can really brings bad effects to cryptosystem. I think this is also the reason why some countries are doing totally banned of crypto in their country because there's a fact that crypto will be possible cause of doing people's illegal activities. This could be the big problem in cryptosystem that really needs to make immediately solution.

hopefully such incidents for the future diminish and if it could even have no more crime so everyone will feel safe wherever and whenever, let alone the incident involving the name of bitcoin certainly can spread the issue is not delicious

Okay your point being? bitcoin is money and people are addicted to money. So you'll see robberies happening every now and then. Even if it is in bitcoin. So you don't have to post every single article about bitcoin and its robberies or rather anything. Its a good thing that the police caught them but honestly no one even cares.

Cryptocurrency related theft isn’t only limited to the cyberspace. Being valuable assets, people have been targeted by robbers on account of their crypto holdings. In February 2018, news broke out of a robbery that resulted in the theft of 18 bitcoins in Taiwan.

Just like what happens here our country a cybercrime related bitcoin scammer caught by the police he took worth of million using bitcoin for investment. Just research "A list of scamming allegations against Xian Gaza" he has the biggest scam here in our country using bitcoin but now he was in jail. These kinds of people who destroy the reputation of bitcoin must in jail and be punished by the law.

Wait, do the robbers actually own Bitcoins they were claiming to sell? I mean, if I were a buyer in that set up, I would make sure I ask for a signed message from an address that actually had the coins I'd be trying to buy. This just seems like a massive mess that could have easily been avoided.
Then again, maybe the robbers do have "show coins", in which case there's really not much you can do other than avoiding face to face transactions altogether.

The OP is trying to say that robbers use the name “Bitcoin” to lure victims in a common robbery hold up scenario. In my opinion this situation is a typical robbery that doesn’t involved actual bitcoin transaction, because of the popularity of bitcoin people who heard even its name is being interested and hurried to invest and bad people using this to commit their crime. Anyway there is nothing we do about this, however lets just be careful nowadays guys.

Did you read the article? Lol. There was no Bitcoin transaction involved. Heck, Bitcoin was barely involved at all. Robbers basically posed as Bitcoin sellers, met with clients, then stole the money they brought with them to buy the coins with. This isn't digital currency theft, it's just your typical centuries-old run-of-the-mill robbery. As far as this case goes, if you don't trade cryptos face to face, you have nothing at all to worry about.

If this is robbery with the help of physical strength, then I would like to see robbers detained in Saudi Arabia. Because in a country with Islamic laws, a robber will be made a disabled person for life. Therefore, the robber there will think 10 times over the consequences, before committing a crime.

I wonder how AI helped them in this? It turns out that the Dubai police are the most technologically advanced and progressive in the world. The CIA needs to learn from them
