Regarding the growing concern of large holders and distribution.

Just giving a heads up. I'll be opening a giveaway thread sometime within the next few days. Conditions are, 500 nxt for new nxt accounts of bitcointalk users with an account history of at least 2 weeks and 10 posts. Post your account to receive the nxt. FOR NEW/SMALL HOLDER NXT USERS ONLY.  If the new users are referred to my thread, they should quote the bitcointalk user who referred them and that user will receive 1000 nxt for every 10 new nxt users quoting their name, provided they aren't already a large holder. Large holders should be doing their part to promote nxt, not trying to increase their hoard. Do your part. I will be diligent in making sure my criteria is followed, keeping give away records and checking the blockchain. No nxt will be given to those attempting to abuse the give away, along with a permanent ban from any eligibility and public shaming in my thread . I'm trying to do a good thing for the nxt community don't be a dick and abuse it. This giveaway will be going on pretty much indefinitely. You can imagine this could eat a significant amount of my holdings, but I realize the importance of distribution for a currencies success. Remember. For new/small holder nxt users only.

I'll post an update/link to all relevant nxt threads when I start the give away.

Feel free to repost this wherever you see appropriate.

Good man! this is what Nxt needs, not con artist over night millionaire horders!!

Very smart. Maybe other stakeholders will follow suit.  Please post this in the nextcoin.org forums and I will sticky it for you.  There is a growing international audience there as well.

I would advise everyone to stop buying this, my accounts been hacked already by the looks of it it's clearly at beta stage at the moment and a couple of early investors and coders seem to be trying to get rich mega quick by valuing it at 13m usd!!

My coins were sent to another address by the looks of things, trying to see if I can get to the bottom of it now will post update if I do. Feel gutted over $1000 down the drain.

Yeah I did I realised right away but because the client was still beta with problems, I couldn't change it!

EDIT: V.important people if you do want to try this use a sentence not just a word. That's all that's needed for the access to your whole account.

I know this is no comfort to you, but to anyone else: if you're not sure that you have a strong pass phrase: create a new Nxt account with a 100 character long pass phrase, using both letters, numbers, and symbols like !? .. then send all of your Nxt to this new and secure account.

Weak pwds are not clever thing to do in any case, software issues are irrelevant.

You can't change passwords. You can send coins to other strong pass phrase address. There is a warning in multiple places to use strong (I suggest diceware) passwords. There should be a warning on client too but investing $1k in something and not reading a thing about it is nuts. Sorry.

No they're not, as If i could have changed it i.e. set up new wallet to send coins to I would have. Software issues were the fault and it's why projects that value themselves at launch for 13m usd shouldn't skip beta testing or people get burned.

Well a) i did read about it, b) i tried to send my coins to a more secure address and couldn't because the client wouldn't update until 5 versions later.

IMO launching a project that's been developed in a short time by one coder and valued at 13m usd without beta testing first is nuts.

I've used bitcoin for over 2 years with a similar password and never had a problem.

Being an idiot once and not using strong pwd is one thing forgivable. But being an idiot twice instead of recognising your stupidity and below average IQ while blaming the software is not.

Added to Ignore list for being mentally retarded!

It's true the project is early in its development stage, but it didn't value itself at that price, the market did.
