That's certainly true, mate. At current prices, it seems largely impossible for ETH to reach a price of $2,500 anytime soon. There needs to be a massive bull market for this to happen. Bitcoin needs to rise in price first, in order to pave the way for Ethereum and other altcoins to reach new ATHs in price across the crypto market. Of course, we also have the problem of scalability which greatly reduces the demand for any cryptocurrency on the market. I believe that once Ethereum scales with the adoption of Casper PoS and Sharding, prices will rise even higher than $2,500 within the short term. With only 4 years since the inception of the ETH blockchain, there's still room for improvement.

Nonetheless, we might end up waiting a long time before ETH hits new ATHs in price due to the slow movement of the crypto market. Bitcoin is still below its latest ATH of $20k per coin, making it difficult for other altcoins to reach new ATHs in price across the crypto market. Once BTC gets past $20k, then we can talk about Ethereum reaching at least $2.5k and above. In the meantime, it's best to accumulate as much ETH as you can before it's too late. Sometimes opportunities like these won't come again in a lifetime. If you've managed to secure your stake in ETH, you'll greatly benefit from it once it becomes highly demanded by people in the mainstream world. Just my thoughts

Ethereum is currently getting a lot of supports from the community lately and connecting communities through a shared platform. I am sure altcoin eth will be able to reach the price of $300 in one month, and if the price remains profitable, eth will be able to pass the 500 USD mark by the end of 2019. However, it is a long way to go before Altcoin can reach an all-time high of more than $1,400. In my opinion, currently buying eth can be a profitable investment alternative for the future.

so far, ethereum prices have only been affected by bitcoin prices. when the price of bitcoin goes up, the price goes up, but it's not as significant. in fact, the price in bitcoin is also down. a few days ago the price of 1 ethereum was 0.021 bitcoin, and now the price is 0.019 bitcoin, in bitcoin pairs, it is decreasing.

That's certainly true, mate. Bitcoin plays a huge part in Ethereum's price across the crypto market. Whenever it rises in price, Ethereum follows. This is not usually the case, but we can see how Bitcoin affects (either positively or negatively) other cryptocurrencies on the market. The real trigger for Ethereum's price will be it's Casper PoS upgrade. There's no doubt about it. But this is taking longer than usual, leaving many people in suspense. As of now, prices have remained stagnant as there's little demand for ETH. Back in 2017, ETH enjoyed higher prices because of BTC's bull market run, and the rise of ICOs. But the government's crackdown towards ICOs, have depressed ETH's price like never before.

We just have to wait until ETH's upgrade and the next bull market, to be able to experience $2,500 per coin. Until then, I believe that Ethereum will be hovering between the $150 - $200 range for some time. What a surprise, they got that one completely wrong.  I'm actually happy this thread is still alive because I like seeing old predictions that turned out badly.

Then again, they probably only got the timeframe wrong.  I am expecting Eth to hit $2500 eventually, but it might not even be in 2020.  I just don't know, nor does anyone else, but my best guess is that when Eth finally goes pos there will be some huge buying so that investors own the required 32 Eth in order to stake it.  That will drive up the price at least a little.  Add some FOMO to that and it's a recipe for a huge price increase. 

Even if my scenario doesn't come true, I still think it will get to at least $2500 within the next couple of years.  Bitcoin no doubt will experience one of its major bull jumps, will probably exceed its own all time high, and Eth will be along for the ride.  A 10x gain is not outside the realm of possibility.

Everything can happened in crypto, 70 days is still a long way. If ethereum can make a big breakthrough and can attract people to buy i'm sure the demand will explode and the price will explode also.
Even the chance is very small, it's not bad to us to buy some and support ethereum, more over they will have a big revolution next year which is ethereum 2.0 just like people talk about it.

the statement made by the OP was pure guesswork and was not based on an analysis!!   I agree with you that the price of Ethereum is greatly influenced by the price of Bitcoin.  so in my estimation, if Ethereum wants to reach $ 2,5k then the price of Bitcoin must be in the range of $ 25k to $ 35k.   I'm not sure the price of Bitcoin will be that high in next year, maybe 2021 is the time.

I think that no one will refute the opinion that it was the fraudulent ico Company that negatively affected the development of ethereum.  In addition, to this day, the Ethereum team has already done quite a lot for ERC 20, which has improved the technical characteristics of Ethereum.  I am sure that the further development of the erc-20 platform will be accompanied by an active increase in the price of Ethereum coins, which are already a real competitor to Bitcoin and have come a lot ahead of the rest of altcoin.

IMO we need FOMO to pump any coins, many project developments are useless to pump price if many people are affraid to buy too

Well, predictions are just predictions. They're not a guarantee that an asset will reach a certain price in the future. I believe that the OP's prediction of $2,500 per ETH is just a wild guess. It's possible that we'll see Ethereum touching that USD valuation within a couple of years from now, if Bitcoin continues on an uptrend in price across the crypto market. The much-awaited PoS upgrade for Ethereum could make things exciting for early investors, as prices start to skyrocket like never before. However, Bitcoin will be the true indicator of ETH's price over the long term. We've already seen how altcoins behave on the market once Bitcoin increases in price.
