I dont know what I have done wrong, but I have again big problems with Cloudbet. On my account are 0,4858 BTC at the moment. I opened my account on March 24th and made four deposits in the first three weeks. I lost a lot at the beginning, on April 14th I made my first withdrawal request which was transfered instantly. My 0,07 BTC withdraw from 26th April was transfered after 4 days, which was some kind of strange, because Livechat and Email Support told me that I will be paid within 24 hours.
Yesterday afternoon I made a new 80 MBT withdraw which was pending until this morning. I asked how long it will take this time by email and became this email which is unbelieveable:

"Hi Idemood,
We hope this email finds you well. To uphold high-security standards we kindly request you to send in documents to validate your identity. These security checks have to be done to guarantee the right level of security for both parties involved.
As a part of this security check we kindly ask you to respond to this e-mail enclosing the following documents.
1) Verify your identity
Provide a digital photograph or scanned colour copy of your government–issued ID card, driving licence or passport that clearly displays:
-Document number (ID number, licence number, passport number), your full name and date of birth.
-No black/blurred portions (all details must be in focus)
-All four corners of the document (ie. no cropping)
-Expiry date that has not passed
-Front and back of the ID card or licence
2) Verify your address
Provide one digital photograph or scanned colour copy of a paper utility bill or paper bank/credit-card statement that clearly displays:
-Your name and address
-An issue date within the last 3 months
-All four corners of the bill/statement (i.e. no cropping)
Acceptable utility bill statements include landline phone (mobile bills are not acceptable), heating, water, electricity, and municipal government correspondence where address and name is shown is also accepted. eg. a letter from your local tax office, police or registry office.
3) A photograph of yourself holding both the above documents.
Please ensure the photograph is not blurry and clearly shows the documents.
We assure you that we will treat all this information confidentially and it is only for internal use. Once we have received the documents you will not be requested to send the same ones again while they remain valid.
Should you need further assistance regarding this request then please keep the original information of this e-mail when responding to us.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Best regards,
Cloudbet Support Team"

How could this be? Why does a Bitcoin Bookmaker asks for identity card, utility bill and Selfies? I made a Cloudbet account in March, because these verification documents are not necessary. I will not send my identity card or private pictures of me to Cloudbet. I thought Cloudbet is a serious bitcoin bookmaker, but what happened today is a big fraud in my opinion. Has anyone an idea what I can do? I just want to receive my 0,4858 BTC and say goodbye to cloudbet...

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

How could this be? Why does a Bitcoin Bookmaker asks for identity card, utility bill and Selfies?
I haven't tried them but with a quick search, I found this (I guess it's just a normal procedure for withdrawing large amounts):

Hi everyone,
I would like to explain my sad experience with Cloudbet casino. I’ve tried some BTC casinos and decided to make some bets in Cloudbet. I like to play with some higher limits. So I’ve deposited 2.5BTC. After some low bets I’ve made 2.5BTC bet and won. So I had 5BTC in my account in total. After a few time I’ve requested to withdraw all my coins. Then in two days I realized that my account was frozen. Also I’ve received an email from Cloudbet security team in which they wrote me that my activity is quite unusual and that’s why I need to send them a scan of my passport; utility bill; my photo and so on. So now I can’t withdraw my coins though Cloudbet is providing an anonymous service.

I wouldn't say that they are a scam, but they have proven in the past to be pretty shady, especially on the identity verification end of things.

The problem is that they let you deposit without any sort of ID, don't actually warn you about any potential ID verification unless you are diligent enough to read through their entire terms and conditions section. And there are absolutely no warnings until it's too late for you to produce IDs.

For it to be fair for the customer, I think the most sensible thing to do as a business, espeically when involved with bitcoin where privacy is valued highly, would be to not allow deposits until one is ID verified, or at least have a warning when one deposits that withdrawals will require ID.

Your only options would be to try negotiate an alternative outcome with the support of Cloudbet, and hopefully they budge on their rules; or to submit the ID docs required.

Thank you for this feedback, magneto - I will ensure it is passed on to the team.

If you have had an issue with Cloudbet, please let me know your nickname/registered email address so I can look into this for you.

Many thanks
